April 23, 2023Well… CNN’s got a new show coming for their… fans?… in the fall. As to whether it’ll be a success for them… your guess is as good as mine.
With that being said… my guess is a resounding “no.”
Of course, I think the results will depend on how CNN measures “success” at this point. It seems to be a more subjective exercise than anything else…

CNN CEO Chris Licht announced over the weekend that left-wing network is launching a new show featuring former NBA star Charles Barkley and CBS host Gayle King.
The new one-hour program will reportedly launch this fall on Wednesday nights and will continue through 2024.
“I am thrilled to share that CNN will be home to a new show featuring the extraordinary duo of Gayle King and Charles Barkley, aptly titled King Charles, which will air weekly in primetime beginning this fall and running into 2024,” Licht said in a statement. “This show will be an exciting new way we are delivering culturally relevant programming and unique perspectives to our audience, from two incredibly dynamic personalities.”
“I want the show to be nonpolitical,” Barkley said. “We don’t want to say we’re a Liberal, Conservative, Republican, Democrat; that’s one of the things that’s already ruined television in general.”
“You know (Gayle King) is going to be a straight shooter,” he claimed. “I’m going to be a straight shooter. I know she’s going to be fair and honest and you know I’m going to do the same thing.”
King is a noted leftist who has vacationed with the Obamas.
If this is anything like the whole Chris Wallace debacle, then I’m not holding my breath for this being a “nonpolitical” or “fair and honest” piece of programming. Maybe I’m being too pessimistic, but given CNN’s track record of sucktastic content, I’m thinking my pessimism is well-placed.
Any network that would give Brian Stelter or Don Lemon airtime is bound to be a dumpster fire. Not to mention all the pervs that made it through their hiring process…
The thing is… programming that’s gonna “bring people together” isn’t something that CNN can achieve. Habitual watchers use their hate for conservatives and conservative networks as fuel. That’s, of course, assuming that there are still habitual watchers. They’ve had sh*t numbers for years, so that’s definitely arguable.
Then, you have conservatives, who wouldn’t watch CNN even if it was the only thing that was on…
So… in conclusion… this is a waste of time, and I’m expecting nothing out of it. I still, however, fully anticipate coming away from it disappointed.

I don’t have cable, so I won’t be tuning in. Speaking of TV choices, LT, how are you doing in your quest for a tv/dvd/vcr combo? I’m sure you can find one at thrift stores or on Ebay or Amazon.
About the same as I was… 🙂 I need to venture out to some of my local thrift stores. I’ve just been busy with school. And also broke, which is where the “thrift” element of that comes in…
I’ve also been trying to get my hands on a vinyl record/cd/cassette tape combo console. I have at least 50 gently used records, and the supply is steadily growing. I’ve also been collecting a lot of old cassette tapes lately and listening to them on a knockoff Walkman I got for my birthday. I usually take it to school with me. All the professors love it, while my peers usually have no clue what it is 😉
To avoid disappointment, you have to keep your expectations realistic. And expecting nothing from a CNN show is setting the bar pretty high for them…

CNN brought many people together. They manufactured hate against conservatives by lying all the time which managed to bring the get the two groups to further polarize but brought those within said groups closer together.
Never underestimate the Lefts ability to interpret words in the absolute worst ways possible.
