Today, 89 year old Senator Feinstein from California was asked about the fact that she is retiring in 2024 and will not be seeking reelection. Feinstein’s response was, “I haven’t made that decision. I haven’t released anything.” But… her Establishment handlers had released a statement announcing her retirement and the fact that she would not be seeking reelection. Apparently, Senator Feinstein didn’t even know the decision and announcement had been made, probably because it wasn’t really her choice. It reminds me of SCOTUS Justice Breyer’s, who was basically informed by the Establishment that he would be retiring so that Biden could replace him with a radical leftist woman of color.
CORRECTION: After relistening audio, it sounds like she said, “I *should have* known they put it out.”

Apparently, Senator Feinstein isn’t convinced, despite her staff making the announcement of the Establishment’s decision for her to retire. That, or she already forgot the previous conversation that it had been announced…

As far as political strategy goes, we all knew she’d be retired by the establishment after this term. She’s pushing 90, she’s physically and mentally frail, and both Schiff and Porter have already announce that they are running for her seat in 2024. No one but Senator Feinstein is surprised by this. I mean, I’m sure they informed her of the announcement and she probably just forgot…
Dianne Feinstein announcing her 2024 retirement changes absolutely nothing.

Schiff & Porter were already running. Lee already said she’s in, too. Pelosi already endorsed.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. But rest assured the DNC will find someone even worse to take Di Fi’s place. Schiff is only one of the many craizoids available in California who fill the bill.
Couldn’t have happened to a “nicer” person. Though the thought of who they’ll replace her with is a bit terrifying. Wonder how they’ll justify allowing an old white man replace a woman (assuming Schiff will win, which is, I think, a reasonably safe bet), but I’m sure they’ll figure out some kind of mental gymnastic maneuver to make it okay with the Wokites.
