There’s a lot of discussion about how dangerous conspiracy theories can be. But it’s mostly a one-sided conversation. It’s really only “right-wing conspiracy theories” that get a bad rap. But what about all the ridiculous left-wing conspiracy theories? For example, Stacey Abrams just told the nation that she thinks “there’s no such thing as a heartbeat at six weeks. It is a manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman’s body.” I mean, talk about conspiracy theory! She thinks that all OBGYNs everywhere are conspiring to oppress women by faking fetal heartbeats? Seriously?
Another favorite left-wing conspiracy theory is that if Republicans take the majority in the 2022 midterm elections, then the first thing they’re going to do is somehow prevent all non-white American citizens from voting in future elections. This is truly ridiculous. And yet, here’s MSNBC spreading this ridiculous and far-fetched conspiracy theory to their national audience. Fernand Amandi, a Democrat pollster, tells a panel, “The truth of the matter is, if they [black Hispanic, and Asian voters] don’t take the opportunity to vote in this election, they may not have an opportunity to vote again in a free and fair election. Those really are the stakes.”

But it looks like Amandi forgot a key word. It’s implied, he just didn’t say it. Here’s what he actually meant– ‘The truth of the matter is, if they [black Hispanic, and Asian voters] don’t take the opportunity to vote FOR DEMOCRATS in this election, they may not have an opportunity to vote again in a free and fair election.’
That’s actually what they think. They really think that if minorities don’t vote for Democrats then they may never be able to vote again because Republicans won’t ever let them vote in another election. And here’s the interesting thing that basically undermines his entire argument–Republicans WANT black, Hispanic, and Asian voters to turn out in huge numbers because we know that Democrat policies have been disproportionately damaging their communities, and that minority demographics are shifting to the right because of it. We want all American citizens to legally vote, regardless of race. And we believe that all people of all races are capable of independent thought and making their own informed decisions, especially about politics.
Democrats, however, recently insinuated that Latino voters who are leaving the Democrat party are simply being duped by misinformation. That’s how little Democrats think of Hispanic Americans. If they’re not voting Democrat, then it must be that they’re being duped and not because they made a personal decision based using critical thinking. They want minority demographics to vote, but only for the people they think should be elected.
What would Amandi say if black, Hispanic, and Asian voters came out in record numbers like he wants, but also voted for Republicans like never before? Would he also say they had been duped by misinformation and insinuate that they aren’t capable of making informed and free-thinking decisions? Would he say that they had unwittingly voted for their own destruction, again insinuating that they aren’t capable of making informed and free-thinking decisions?

Yeah. I garatuee you that everyone on MSNBC will say that any minority that votes Republicans will either be duped by misinformation or they’ll be called traders to their race.
Do these people hear how insane they sound?
Considering it was aired on MSNBC, I’m pretty sure they were the only ones who heard… 🙂
Ouch. (but true)
