BREAKING: Wisconsin School Sued for Allowing Kids to Switch Gender Identities Behind Parents’ Backs

Fourteen parents have brought suit against the Madison Metropolitan School District in Wisconsin.  The parents are suing the district over a policy that allows the school to hide a child’s gender transition from their parents.

The school policy allows children to be called by a different, preferred name without a parent’s knowledge.  So, Shane can become Jane and Mom and Dad would be none the wiser.  The official school records would still show Shane, but all the teachers would be calling him Jane.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed on Tuesday, Madison Metropolitan School District’s policies allow students to “socially transition to a different gender identity at school without parental notice or consent, requires all teachers to enable this transition, and then prohibits teachers from communicating with parents about this potentially life-altering choice without the child’s consent.”

The lawsuit also claims that the school district’s policy “directs its teachers and staff to deceive parents by reverting to the child’s birth name and corresponding pronouns whenever the child’s parents are nearby” and that it actually prevents teachers from telling parents about their children’s “gender identity,” pseudonyms, or preferred pronouns used during school hours “unless legally required to do so or unless the student has authorized such disclosure.”

The lawsuit goes on, stating that “for some Plaintiffs, gender identity issues also have deep religious significance.” The suit says that 11 of the plaintiffs are “active Christians who seek to apply their beliefs to everything they teach their children, including about their sex,” and that “believe that the two sexes are a core part of God’s intended design for humanity.”

This is outrageous.  And, this is what happens when nanny state liberals run schools and school boards.  They take the approach that government knows best, not parents.  And they are all too happy to have the state play the role of parent, and cut out the actual parents.  In this case, the school is actively overriding the religious values and beliefs of many of these families.

Parents should have the ultimate right to raise their kids under their morals, values, and religious beliefs. It is not the business of the schools to be teaching values and morals.  Because, the problem that public schools run into is, whose values and morals do they teach?

And what about teachers who are being required to take part in this delusion and deception?  There must be teachers who, at the very least, have an ethical qualm with keeping the parents out of the loop.

Unfortunately, until parents (and teachers) push back on this lunacy, some schools will continue to act like parents forfeit their parental rights when their children walk through the doors of the school.

Hopefully this case is heard by a judge who has an ounce of brains, and not an extremist, Obama-era judge.
