Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall said that Alex Friedmann created an evil plan to plant guns and ammunition throughout a brand-new detention center with the hopes it would create a deadly jailbreak situation. Alex Friedmann was arrested and charged with Class A Felony vandalism. He’s being held on a $2.5 million bond at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution.
Sheriff: Criminal justice advocate who worked for Bernie planted guns, ammunition in detention center to organize massive jailbreak https://t.co/RfMXNZ977W

Alex Friedmann was a felon who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for assault. He had been out since 1999, advocating for prison reform. The bigger deal is that this is the man that served Bernie Sanders in the capacity of Criminal Justice Advisor. These are the people advising the socialist running for president.
The man is accused of using stolen keys to hide guns and ammunition around a brand-new detention facility set to open in April. There are so many reasons this is a bad idea, but among them, the officers at this facility are not going to be carrying guns. Friedmann is accused of pretending to be a construction worker to steal keys to the prison and had the building blueprints. The reports say that Friedmann tried to eat the blueprints to the prison as he was being arrested.
Sheriff Hall: “Mr. Friedmann served time and spent a long time advocating for safe jails and prisons. You cannot have a loaded weapon inside a facility like this unless you have one intent for that weapon.”
I would love to hear Bernie Sanders try to explain this away. His campaign has been under scrutiny (only by conservative media it seems) for the conduct of his campaign staffers. They have advocated for “re-education” camps, their love of gulags, rounding up conservatives and using firing squads to get rid of them. Now we see his former Criminal Justice Advisor is actively planning for a prison break that will undoubtedly have ended up in massive innocent casualties.
All politics aside, this happening is scary. The people of Tennessee are lucky that officials caught this before they opened in two months. Prison reform needed serious changes after the racist legislation of the ’90s, and Trump has made real efforts to help change it. It still needs a lot of work, but a prison break is not now or ever the answer.
