Watch As The Official Brexit Clock Counts Down To Zero

Brexit has been going on in the UK for years. The government in the UK asked its voters to vote on two separate occasions on whether the voters wanted Brexit to happen. Each time the voters told the government with their votes that it is a resounding YES!

Today on January 31st, 2020, the UK has left the European Union. Nigel Farage, who is the leader of the Brexit Party in the UK, spoke powerfully to the European Union.

He saw the writing on the wall for the European Union. They wanted the EU to have its flag, anthem, president, and army. Any logical citizen of the UK would not want to be governed by a faceless bureaucratic union. Nigel said it best, “the British are too big to bully, thank goodness.”

The UK has been a helpful ally to the United States. The people of the UK voted Boris Johnson into office. Boris is very similar in style and idea to Trump. He wants to put the people of his country first.

I can feel a change in the air. More countries are switching from a global mindset to a national mindset. This will mean better trade deals for the United Kingdom, especially regarding trade with the United States. They are free to act in the best interest of their citizens.

Things will change for the United Kingdom under Boris’ Brexit plan. According to the BBC, under the plan, some goods entering Northern Ireland from Great Britain will have to pay the EU import taxes. Brexit will allow the UK to have different laws and regulations than the European Union. The UK will have to pay a “divorce bill” that is estimated to be around £30 billion.

The relationship between the EU and the UK will continue to unfold. We still do not know what the trade deals will look like between the two. It will also be fascinating to see how many Europeans that are eligible for the “settled status,” decide to stay in the UK. Anyone that moved from a European country and lived at least 5 years in the UK before Brexit took place can claim settled status. Also, any child that was born in the UK whose parents applied and were granted settled status will automatically become a British citizen.
