So Meet the Press had a whole panel trying to tell its viewers that what President Trump has done with the killing of Soleimani is unconstitutional. Their argument is that Trump needed congressional authority. That this was an act of war and Trump does not have congressional authority to take him out.
Chuck Todd tries to make the point that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was only saying “terrorist” because that is the only way this whole thing is legal.
IN PART, what Chuck Todd is saying is true. A President does not have the authority to drone-kill foreign generals UNLESS they pose an imminent threat.
For Example:
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1213096352072294401
And this tweet by Liz Wheeler, a reporter for OANN, I should mention that it was re-tweeted by the President:
Soleimani killed 603 American servicemembers.
Soleimani maimed thousands more with IEDs.
Soleimani approved the attack on the U.S. Embassy.
He was plotting to kill more Americans.
Yes he deserves to be dead. If you’re lamenting his death, you hate Trump more than a terrorist.

So knowing that Soleimani was the “Master Mind of Death”, it should be a no brainer as to why he had to be taken out. This should be a bipartisan win for America.
What Chuck Todd is doing, is called the MAGIC OF HALF TRUTHS. Jeh Johnson comes on as Chuck Todd’s star supporting witness, and it completely backfires. You can tell Chuck Todd had NO IDEA that Johnson was going to go against him!
Jeh Johnson is the former United States Secretary of Homeland Security and the General Counsel of the Department of Defense during the Obama Administration.
This guy has the experience and is one of Obama’s guys. Chuck Todd thought this was a slam dunk.
Y’ALL! The only words he can muster are “ok” and “uh-huh.”
ICYMI ⬇️
Jeh Johnson – former Obama DHS Secretary – made it abundantly clear that the Soleimani strike was a “lawful military objective” and the President had “ample domestic legal authority to take him out.”pic.twitter.com/lo6iyirJpD

“It was a lawful military objective, and the President under his constitutional authority as Commander in Chief had ample domestic legal authority to take him out.”
“WITHOUT AN ADDITIONAL CONGRESSIONAL AUTHORIZATION!”
THEN HIS MIC CUTS OUT!!!
Am I the only one that noticed that as soon as Jeh starts saying that President Trump in his capacity as Commander in Chief could lawfully take him out WITHOUT AN ADDITIONAL CONGRESSIONAL AUTHORIZATION, that his mic was magically malfunctioning?
This is lunacy. The left will stop at nothing to go against our President. Silencing or mocking anyone in its path.
