By now, you’re probably familiar with New York state Sen. Kevin Parker. He’s not exactly making headlines for a good reason. Long story short, he told a female colleague to kill herself after she called him out on Twitter.
You shouldn’t say that to people no matter WHO you are, but this guy is an elected official. What made him think that was a good idea?
Naturally, people went after him and demanded his resignation. He apologized, but it didn’t do much good. People are mad.
I sincerely apologize. I used a poor choice of words. Suicide is a serious thing and and should not be made light of.

Well well well…the story gets a bit juicier. As it turns out, he once drafted legislation that would require someone to have their social media accounts checked before buying a gun. I am not making this up.
More importantly, Kevin Parker is the senator drafting legislation for social media checks before buying guns.
Introduced legislation that would require applicants to hand over their usernames and passwords for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat when purchasing a gun. https://t.co/PtgfOYRPgb

The bill, “requires a person applying for a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver or a renewal of such license to consent to having his or her social media accounts and search engine history reviewed and investigated for certain posts and/or searches over a period of 1-3 years prior to the approval of such application or renewal.”
Kevin Parker. The lawmaker who told a female colleague to kill herself on Twitter. He drafted that.
You can’t even make this stuff up.
