Democrats are P*SSED at how President Trump is handling the massive caravan of central-American migrants parked outside our Southern border.
Keep in mind that THEIR solution is simply “let them all in.” You know – because we should entirely ignore our OWN immigration laws.
Which makes sense… seeing as they can’t differentiate between immigration policy and POEMS.
Emma Lazarus’s poem on the Statue of Liberty promises an America defined by hope and refuge for all who are in need. This is the founding principle of our country. One that President Trump has turned his back on. One we must fight to hold onto. pic.twitter.com/RNKHOckfRw

(Note she didn’t highlight “The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.” Was that part of the poem not PC enough?)
Kirsten Gillibrand is almost certainly trying to run for president, by the way.
So… who’s gonna give this potential president a reminder?
Poems are not laws in this country. As an elected member of government I think you would know the difference between the two.

Do you know that was before taxpayer funded welfare?

RIGHT. Back then people came over not for a free meal – but rather for a chance to earn it.
And that was written when we had no social programs…when neighbors would take care of the poor not the government.

Remember any immigrants storming their way into Ellis Island, throwing rocks at guards, cursing America, burning our flag, while waving theirs? Me neither. They came with reverence for America and tears in their eyes when they saw the Statue of Liberty for the first time

PS
You realize if you so much as had a cold at Ellis Island, you were back on the boat, right?
It’s almost as if there was some security at the border or something.

Or something.
