Me neither.
It was yet another violent weekend in the Windy City. According to the Chicago Sun Times, 57 people were shot. Five of those people died. Among those injured? A 3-year-old boy.
Eighteen people were shot Friday evening after 5 p.m., 18 were shot Saturday, and 21 were shot Sunday and no one was shot Monday before 5 a.m.
A single shooting Friday wounded seven people, including a 3-year-old boy in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
Most of the group was on a sidewalk about 8 p.m. when shots rang out in the 1600 block of West 65th Street, according to Chicago police. The 3-year-old was shot in the left shin and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition stabilized.
The last three weekends in Chicago have been baaaaaaaad. There were “several” shootings last weekend, and over 50 people were shot the weekend prior to that.
But remember– “people did not pull the trigger.”
