Confession time: I love “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.” I KNOW it’s trashy and slightly scripted and unrealistic, but I can’t help myself. I love the drama. It’s like a bad movie you can’t get enough of. Whenever it comes on, it trends on Twitter and I casually read tweets and laugh, because so many people have the EXACT SAME REACTION. And honestly, it’s nice to have something completely stupid and non-political to joke about. I mean, think about it. Last season, America forgot about its political differences and united. We all hated Arie together. It was a true moment of unity.
Needless to say, I was REALLY looking forward to Becca Kufrin’s season. I can’t really give any synopsis on the individual guys yet, because I had to make a tough decision Monday night. It was either the first game of the Stanley Cup finals or “The Bachelorette.” I recorded the latter, but I flew out the next day to see Kimber soooooo I haven’t been able to watch it yet.
I will though. Don’t you worry. Plus I read spoilers, so I kind of already know what’s going to happen and who she probably ends up with.
Sorry. Just felt like I needed to explain myself.
So one of the contestants this season is a dude named Garrett Yrigoyen.
He’s 29 and a medical sales rep from Reno, Nevada. His bio is super short.
Raised in a small town in Central California, Garrett is a true outdoorsman who loves fly fishing, hiking and snowshoeing. When he’s not on an outdoor adventure, he’s perfecting his Chris Farley impression. He’s excited to find love with the Bachelorette…down by the river!
Word has it he’s the current frontrunner, but that’s not why he’s making headlines.
People are pissed because they noticed he has liked a lot of conservative and right-wing pages on Instagram. (Do you think he’s a clever and competent reader?!) I mean, the HORROR right?
OMG HE’S SO SEXIST FOR BEING GROSSED OUT BY NASTY FEMINISTS.
Then there’s this:
And this, which is completely accurate:
And there’s this, which I’m 100% sure I’ve posted on my own account before:
As much as I cannot STAND David Hogg, I don’t condone that last meme. But for the most part, he’s right on the money. Feminists suck. Illegal immigration sucks. Society ruining our boys SUCKS. I just think it’s ridiculous that this is what journalists are looking into these days. “OMG YOU LIKED A RIGHT-WING POST! YOU ARE SATAN!” So much for tolerance.
Garrett Yrigoyen, one of 28 cast members on Becca Kufrin’s season of “The Bachelorette,” appears to have a history of liking social media posts that mock trans people, undocumented immigrants, left-wing women and one Parkland high school student. https://t.co/LcWjfxvmjX

I thought you were allowed to have you’re own political opinion 🧐

…because we all know that all thoughts must be approved thoughts. How very Orwellian of you, HuffPo.

That’s exactly how the left operates.
I suspect they’re afraid Garrett will be a season favorite, which explains the urgency to tarnish his reputation. They need to make people hate him before it’s too late. I mean, Becca gave him the first impression rose.
Let it simmer.
