Bill O’Reilly has a lot of problems. Things aren’t getting any better for him. Right when the drama started dying down, NYT published a report, indicating that O’Reilly settled a $32 million sexual harassment claim one month prior to renewing his contract with Fox News.
He maintains his innocence. His former colleagues say otherwise.
The entire situation is pretty murky. I’m only speaking for myself here, but I don’t trust O’Reilly. However, I think it’s super weird that his critics– like Gretchen Carlson and Megyn Kelly– wrote him mushy gushy letters.
You don’t write mushy gushy letters to a known sexual harassing jerk.
Anyway, O’Reilly recently made the mistake of bringing up Eric Bolling’s deceased son and kinda sorta using him as a defense.
“I urge you to think about what you put in your newspaper. Eric Bolling’s son is dead. He’s dead, because of allegations made, in my opinion — and I know this to be true — against Mr. Bolling,” O’Reilly said.
Bolling shot back and called the entire situation “beyond inappropriate.”

Apologies to Eric Bolling and prayers for him and his family. The message I tried to send was that allegations harm kids. Nothing more.

Eric Bolling is a stand up guy who deserves the respect I have for him.

O’Reilly’s just desperate. It’s as simple as that. But come on dude. Now you’re mad at God?
“You know, am I mad at God? Yeah, I’m mad at him,” O’Reilly said. “I wish I had more protection. I wish this stuff didn’t happen. I can’t explain it to you. Yeah, I’m mad at him.”
Come on.

I understand that he’s speaking out of anger and frustration, but he’s touting a ridiculous a doctrine. It suggests he doesn’t have a good grasp on how a relationship with God actually works.
God didn’t do this to him, so he can stop being mad. If he’s not innocent, it’s obviously ALL ON HIM. God didn’t force him to misbehave. And even if he is innocent, it’s absurd to blame God. He is good. He doesn’t cause bad things to happen to us. In the very least, stay humble and pray about it. But going out in public and proclaiming that you’re mad at the Creator of the Universe? That’s dumb. He just looks like a pompous jerk.
Get a grip, Bill.
