It seems like American Eagle is fan of Sydney Sweeney, or rather the gobs of money her advertisements bring in. After a successful ad campaign for jeans back in 2025 (which enraged chunky leftists everywhere), Sweeney is back again, this time modeling denim shorts.
I mean, the slogan “Syd for Short” is cute. It ties in the clothing, her name, and her haircut. Is her giggle at the end of the ad slowly lowering my IQ? Just a little. But overall, this is catchy and I’m guessing it is going to be another successful campaign.
This ad campaign also sends another, more important message: American Eagle didn’t back down to outrage culture. Despite the leftist screams for a boycott, the brand rebooked Sweeney. They could have played it safe this time and gone with a liberal, overweight woman, but thankfully they picked the hot blonde that sells denim like hotcakes. Is this a sign that retail marketing is healing itself? Are the days of seeing men advertise women’s clothing over? Only time will tell.
