I have two old kitties: Clementine and Napoleon. They’re both 16, but they’re looking good for their age, so I’ll surely have them for yeeeeears to come! (don’t question it, folks.)
I live alone, so I end up talking to them more than I’d like to admit…. and they’re definitely my best pals.
I cannot IMAGINE putting them through something like this. It legitimately makes my stomach churn.
WARNING: This is awful…..
Yup. Someone did that to her cat… and she stands by it.
If I could punch her, and the people who did this, I would.
A Ukrainian bodybuilder is under investigation for animal cruelty after tattooing her cat to make it look ‘as glamorous’ as her.
Elena Ivanickaya from Chernihiv in northwest Ukraine, decided to have an image of a winged Egyptian inked onto her pet Sphynx’s chest.
Photos show the hairless moggy unconscious under anaesthetic as the tattoo artist carries out his work.
Here’s that poor baby’s finished result.
So the kitty was under anaesthetic… no big deal then, right?!
WRONG.
1- An animal should NEVER be put under unless it’s medically necessary. Why run the risk for your sick vanity?
2- The healing process on tattoos is VERY uncomfortable. I know, because I have quite a few. It stings until it itches, and then your skin peels off. Think scab – because it literally is one.
So while the kitty didn’t feel the actual tattooing… she did feel the healing process, and it’s NOT fun. I CHOSE to get tattoos, so I can deal with the consequences. I’m a big girl. This was FORCED onto this kitty for absolutely no reason but human vanity… and he has no idea why his skin hurts. NOT OK.
People all over the internet were FURIOUS at this kitty being tortured, but his owner defended herself:
Ms Ivanickaya hit back, saying the spoiled cat, who has its own Instagram page and eats fresh oysters, leads a better life than the people complaining.
She also defended her actions saying the cat wasn’t harmed in any way.
She said: ‘This cat’s life is better then yours. Maybe it is hell for you, but he feels just fine.
‘He has not been castrated and he never will be, this would be real cruelty.
‘I checked with the vet before getting him a tattoo and they were fine with it and a vet was present while they were doing the tattoo, so everything was under control.’
She added: ‘The cat is treated with love and care.
So getting your cat unnecessarily tattooed – totes cool. Neutering your cat to prevent diseases, fighting, roaming, and the risk of unwanted kittens with no home? THAT’s torture.
Here’s the face of responsible pet ownership:
What a …..delightful lady.
