Lena Dunham Hasn’t Had An Abortion But Wishes She Had

I didn’t think it was possible, but it has happened. Lena Dunham topped herself.

It’s not a trashy picture or stupid rant about Hillary Clinton this time. It’s not even something that a good mocking session can adequately cover. This calls for a full on excoriation.

Last week, Lena released her Women of the Hour podcast titled “Choice.” Any clue as to what THAT episode’s about? If you said “abortion,” by golly, you’re right! Murdering babies is Lena’s favorite subject! You know. Besides vaginas.

“I’m a pro-choice woman,” Dunham said. “From an early age, she [Lena’s mother] taught my younger sibling and me to say ‘anti-choice’ instead of ‘pro-life’ because she wanted to make sure that we knew that everyone is pro-life. Some people are anti-choice.”

Funny. I’m planning on teaching my future children to call it, “pro-abortion.” Of course I’m for choice. Women make the conscious decision to have sex. When you do that, there’s a chance that you could create a human being. If you decide to take that risk, you’re making a choice.  Right then. And I’m sorry (actually, no I’m not), but once you’re pregnant, another human being is inside of you. I’m sorry if you have a problem with that, but it is what it is. It’s another person with an entirely different set of DNA. Just because they’re dependent on you for survival doesn’t make them any less human. These are babies we’re talking about. They have a right to life.

ANYWAY. Lena has been thinking a lot about abortion lately. She’s so bummed out that there’s a negative stigma attached to it.

“Something I’ve thought about a lot is the fact that there is stigma around abortion,” she said. “We all know that there’s cultural stigma, it’s hard to put an abortion on network TV.”

Oh yeah. Because that’s what the people want, right? Abortion News Now. Give me a break! Progressives wouldn’t like that. They can’t handle pictures of babies in the various stages of fetal development. Heck, did you SEE the way they flipped out over the Center for Medical Progress videos? If they can’t handle seeing limbs in petri dishes, you think they can handle watching an abortionist suck a baby out of a woman with the medical equivalent of a vacuum cleaner?

What’s worse, Lena realized that she once tried to distance herself from abortion. The HORROR.

“I always thought that I myself didn’t stigmatize abortion. I’m a – uh abortion rights activist, it’s a huge part of who I am,” she said. “But one day, when I was visiting a Planned Parenthood in Texas a few years ago, a young girl walked up to me and asked me if I’d like to be a part of her project in which women share their stories of abortions. I sort of jumped. ‘I haven’t had an abortion,’ I told her. I wanted to make it really clear to her that as much as I was going out and fighting for other women’s options, I myself had never had an abortion.”

It’s almost like she knows deep, deep, deep down that it’s nothing to be proud of.

“And I realized then that even I was carrying within myself stigma around this issue,” Dunham continued. “Even I, the woman who cares as much as anybody about a woman’s right to choose, felt it was important that people know I was unblemished in this department.”

But it’s not a blemish, according to Lena. It’s something to be proud of. In fact, she wishes she had an abortion, just so she could be proud and better relate to all of the women she regularly fights for.

“So many people I love – my mother, my best friends – have had to have abortions for all kinds of reasons,” Dunham said. “I feel so proud of them for their bravery, for their self-knowledge, and it was a really important moment for me then to realize I had internalized some of what society was throwing at us and I had to put it in the garbage.”

“Now I can say that I still haven’t had an abortion, but I wish I had,” she added.

I’ve never heard a woman who never had an abortion actually say she wishes she had one just for the hell of it. That is, until now.

Lena has officially taken hosebeastery to the next level.
