I know, this almost isn’t worth talking about anymore. It’s been talked to death. But I am LIVID about this. My family are all big 49ers fans (we have a lot of favorite teams, okay?) and it just infuriates me that Colin Kaepernick thinks he’s oppressed and discriminated against when the guy is the FREAKING QUARTERBACK of an NFL team. Let alone one with storied legacy and tradition like the San Francisco 49ers.
And to think, the Niners benched Alex Smith in favor of this douchecanoe. No, I haven’t gotten over it. And what kind of world do we live in when the despised Seattle Seahawks have a quarterback who is more decent and respectful than the San Francisco 49ers’ QB?
I feel like I’m in The Twilight Zone.
Thankfully, plenty of other athletes and teams (and fans) have let their own words and actions speak for themselves. It’s almost like the actions of one ungrateful twerp helps bring out the respect and gratitude of others. Probably not the result Kaepernick wanted, but honestly – he can suck it.
Also, this made me laugh (I’m sure Red Dawn will appreciate it) –
It doesn’t matter if you’re a true-blue Patriots fan or if you hate Tom Brady’s stinking guts, you have to admit – THAT is funny.
But nothing beat what a Gold Star mother posted online in the middle of all this kerfuffle. CNN’s Jake Tapper posted her words on his Twitter account and they are POWERFUL –

Nothing else needs to be said now, does it?
Colin Kaepernick can do and say what he likes. The First Amendment and free speech allows him to do so. But that doesn’t mean he is shielded from the criticism of people who find his actions reprehensible.
We have free speech too.
