So NOW, in addition to being racists and unAmerican and astroturf and whatever else the liberal Democrats have called people who don’t agree with Obama’s healthcare plans, we apparently are just trying to “take down Obama” even if it means “half the country dies.”
Wow. Half the country is going to die if Obama’s healthcare legislation doesn’t pass, you guys. Has someone alerted all the doctors in white labcoats who were invited on the White House lawn today? Because that’s kind of a big deal.
Now – the Olympics thing. Here’s my take on it, because I know you’ve been DYING TO KNOW what I think. I think it’s actually really cool for South America that they’re getting to host for the first time. Do I feel kinda bad that the US is going to miss out? Yeah – I do. It’s a loss for the country. And I cringe a little, frankly, at all the coverage I see of people CHEERING that Chicago lost, but I do understand it. Obama and Michelle made this Olympic fight about them, and that wasn’t cool. People reacted negatively to that, because they are still annoyed that this is the same guy who’s been running all over the world to apologize for the very country which he was ostensibly trying to “sell.” So when he and Michelle ran off to Copenhagen to offer their self-promoting, self-important, self-serving speeches on how important it was to THEM to have the Olympics in their hometown…well, that kiiiinda made people want to root against them. THEM, mind you. Not Chicago.
So yeah – I can sorta understand the cheering, even if I’m not in the cheering crowd.
