If you want to see me get really angry, it’s not hard. Just ask me what I think about the current grocery prices, or go “Hey Haley, what did you think about the final season of ‘Game of Thrones’?”
Years later and it still almost gives me an aneurysm to talk about it.
In a nutshell, it’s a hot, steaming pile of dookie. Don’t watch it. Instead, I would advise you to watch through season seven—stop—and then make up your own ending. It will be better than the real thing, I guarantee it.
Season eight was rushed. Character arcs were destroyed. A water bottle and a coffee cup made guest appearances. It. Was. Bad. And after seven seasons of action-packed fun, it was an extreme letdown. The bad taste left in my mouth will likely linger for years.
Unsurprisingly, I’m not the only one who thinks it was not the best.
“Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington weighed in on the controversial final season of the hit HBO series, saying he agreed with some of the criticism voiced by fans.
“I think if there was any fault with the end of Thrones, is that we were all so f***ing tired, we couldn’t have gone on longer,” the 37-year-old said in a recent interview with GQ Hype. “And so I understand some people thought it was rushed and I might agree with them. But I’m not sure there was any alternative. I look at pictures of me in that final season and I look exhausted. I look spent. I didn’t have another season in me.”
Harington played the character Jon Snow, who was thought to be a bastard but turns out to be the secret love child of royalty in the series.
“Everyone is entitled to their opinion,” he told the outlet. “I think there were mistakes made, story-wise, towards the end maybe. I think there were some interesting choices that didn’t quite work.”
“Interesting choices” is one way of putting it. Personally, I prefer, “The writers took the story, lit it on fire and stomped on it.”
During an election year, it’s nice to have a fun TV show to escape to. Unfortunately, GOT ain’t it. If you want a show that will keep you interested and doesn’t implode in the final season/episode, I have some suggestions below. Happy watching.

I have to add “Six Feet Under” to your list. I loved the ending because it left no unanswered questions. I never watched “Game Of Thrones”. If I decide to, I’ll take your advice and be done after season 7.
I’ll have to check “Six Feet Under” out! A good ending really makes or breaks a show.
