A comedy club located in the former kingdom of CHAZ has cancelled the upcoming shows of four comedians due to the area’s “progressive values.”
AKA no one there is funny.
Capitol Hill Comedy Bar dropped shows from April to October for comedians Dave Smith, Luis Gomez, Jim Florentine, and Kurt Metzger.
Two of the comedians, Florentine and Metzger, shared the email they said they received from the comedy club informing them their shows were canceled.
The club called it a “challenging situation” and said it considered the matter with investors, local comedians, and neighborhood advocacy groups.
Admittedly, I know nothing about the comedians who were cancelled and if they are any good or not. But they’ve ticked off the right people, so I give them points there.
Florentine shared the full statement he received from Capitol Hill Comedy Bar on X.
I guess I need to clean up my act. My comedy shows in Seattle are cancelled along with @luisjgomez @ComicDaveSmith and @kurtmetzger.
