So, funny story, the FBI apparently had no idea how many paid informants they had placed at the Capitol on January 6.
Whoopsies.
The FBI had so many paid informants at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, that it lost track of the number and had to perform a later audit to determine exactly how many “Confidential Human Sources” run by different FBI field offices were present that day, a former assistant director of the bureau has told lawmakers … The FBI spends an average of $42 million each year in payments to its Confidential Human Sources, according to the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General, which has raised concerns about the vetting process for these paid informants.
This whole situation is giving me “It’s 10 p.m., do you know where your children are?” vibes.
If the Federal Bureau of Investigation can’t keep track of their snitches Confidential Human Sources, my guess is they’re also not super organized with tax dollars in general, but that’s just a wild guess.
At this rate, Buffalo Man or Podium Dude could have been arms of the U.S. government, and even the government wouldn’t have known. How the turn tables.

Confidential paid informants there to encourage violence and trespassing, entrapping people to make those MAGA Republicans look as eeeeeeeevil as Biden says they are. Conveniently melting back into the ether.
Imagine being a “confidential human source” for the FBI, and since they conveniently lost the records of how many sources they had on Jan. 6, you get arrested, tried, and convicted. Ain’t that a kick in the pants.
It would be nice if I could say I was shocked, but I can’t.
