Biden Intends To Protect Cultural Resources By…Issuing 50-Year Oil Drilling Ban In NM?

Oh, wait, shush, we’re not supposed to act like we know about that, no matter the plethora of picture proof!

Anyways, the Biden Administration is proposing that, in an effort to protect the cultural resources, wildlife, and Native American lands in New Mexico, they will be issuing a 50-year mining and oil drilling ban across northern New Mexico that extends thousands of acres.

This proposal has not yet been implemented, but if it is finalized, the ban would be in effect for 50 years and apply to more than 4,200 acres in Sandoval County, New Mexico, which is located north of Albuquerque.

Fox News reported this statement from the Secretary of the Department of the Interior (DOI), Deb Haaland:

“Today we’re responding to call from Tribes, elected leaders, and community members who want to see these public lands protected,” Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said in a statement. “We look forward to hearing more from the public to inform decisions about how activities, like gravel mining, may impact these lands, including the important cultural and natural resources.”

In its proposal, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) stated that the action was designed to “protect, preserve, and promote the scenic integrity, cultural importance, recreational values, and wildlife habitat connectivity” in the region. 

Y’all, when I first saw “BLM” I almost wrote out a bunch of snarky remarks to discredit the whole damn thing simply based on just that detail. Anyone else still have residual PTSD from all that mess?

Pretty sure we have debunked the BS that is “green energy” in multiple ways, especially since the carbon footprint to manufacture even just one electric vehicle negates a good chunk of any “emissions savings.”

According to Popular Science, Tesla estimated 30.7 million tons of CO2 in supply chain emissions atop previously reported categories of pollution. That’s roughly equivalent to Serbia’s total emissions in 2021. 

Keep in mind, companies often only report Scopes 1 and 2 as the combined data is often lower than Scope 3 numbers on their own.

In Tesla’s 2022 Impact Report, for instance, the first two “scopes” totaled just 610,000 metric tons of CO2—a much more palatable figure for investors and consumers than the true total of over 31 million tons.

Let that sink in when you’re paying $10 per gallon at the pump.
