Dem. Rep. Kweisi Mfume Terrifyingly Claims DOJ, FBI, And IRS “Keep This Democracy In Check”

This is one of the more terrifying things I’ve ever heard a politician say out loud. Maryland Democrat Representative Kweisi Mfume (curiously born Frizzell Gerald Gray), really just said these words out loud and with a straight face.

“I don’t like these attacks on the Department of Justice, the FBI, the IRS, as if they are somehow anti-US agencies. Those agencies keep this democracy in check and keeps them [unintelligible]. They provide the checks and they provide the balances.”

Uh, no. This is so wrong on so many levels.

First of all, when he says “attacks,” he’s referring to the public outrage at the overwhelming evidence of corruption and collusion within the institutions he named. Clearly, he would rather people didn’t notice or express their outrage on the subject.

Then there’s the fact that we’re a Constitutional Republic. These people throw around the word “democracy” because it’s an easy word to manipulate and most people simply don’t know the difference (ignorance has consequences, people), especially as they’ve worked carefully over the last few years to tie the idea of “democracy” to their agendas. Russia also claims to be a “democracy,” FYI. What makes democracy in America work is that it is implemented within the framework of a Constitutional Republic. But that’s not as convenient for them to talk about because then they have to address the fact that they are fighting tooth and nail to tear down the pillars of our Constitutional Republic.

Also, did he really just say that governmental institutions full of unelected bureaucrats keep American democracy “in check?” As though they’re there to corral and control democracy? That’s not how any of this works.

As for “checks and balances,” it’s certainly not unelected bureaucrats in governmental institutions who are supposed to be a check and a balance to power and corruption in the governmental institutions of this nation. In fact, the checks and balances that are in place in our governmental framework are quite literally there to protect the nation from these unelected bureaucrats in governmental institutions.

The fact that our elected politicians think this is very telling. It honestly reveals so much about what they’re trying to do to this nation and how they think it should function. Clearly, this man wants more authoritarian governmental control and believes that it is how American “democracy” should ideally function. And that should terrify everyone.

By this reasoning, I suspect he believes that the FBI and DOJ should not only be allowed but even encouraged to police our elections, even through blatant manipulation or interference (as with the Hunter Biden laptop story censorship), because he would say that’s what it takes to “keep this democracy in check.” Essentially, “democracy,” but only if you choose what he thinks you should choose. Otherwise, your “democracy” needs to be kept “in check” by the government. Yikes.
