Screaming Protesters Disrupt Montana House of Representatives

Again, after the hoopla about January 6th, how is this not being considered an insurrection? Screaming protesters took over a state capitol building to hinder the lawful democratic processes taking place therein as a protest against actions by that legislative body. And we’re all supposed to pretend like people weren’t hunted by the FBI and thrown in jail for years for doing less than this on J6? But this is (D)ifferent somehow. Seriously, the double standard is getting out of control.

This particular protest is about Montana House of Representatives censuring transgender Democrat Rep. Zooey Zephyr. Zephyr closed a recent statement regarding a bill to ban the medical transition of minors in the state by saying, “The only thing I will say is if you vote yes on this bill and yes on these amendments, I hope the next time there’s an invocation when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands.” The Montana Freedom Caucus called for Zephyr to be censured “for attempting to shame the Montana legislative body and by using inappropriate and uncalled-for language during a floor debate.”

Protesters are also outraged that the Montana Freedom Caucus used male pronouns to refer to Zephyr, a biological male. Following the incident, the Speaker of the Montana House of Representatives did not allow Zephyr to speak during other House business, which is what has prompted the protest chant of “let her speak.”
