The ease with which Andrea Mitchell just flat out lies about Gov. Ron DeSantis here is truly breathtaking.
This is pretty unbelievable. @NBCNews @mitchellreports claimed @GovRonDeSantis won’t allow slavery or the aftermath of slavery to be taught in Florida schools?! How the hell does this question happen? And how has @NBCNews not apologized for the lie? pic.twitter.com/rjAUlg1E1d

Andrea Mitchell, alleged journalist, is posing a question that is a LIE. And it’s a lie that’s easily disproven. Gov. DeSantis has no intention of stopping the teaching of slavery and its aftermath in Florida schools. He did not “say” that he has that intention.
This is just one in a zillion examples of so-called journalists SHAPING A NARRATIVE that is flatly untrue in order to smear anyone who doesn’t toe the Democrat line. EVEN DEMOCRATS should be angry about this. It’s not journalism. It’s shameful propaganda. At worst it’s defamation, and I hope he freaking sues.

Yes DeSantis should sue Mitchell and MSNBC, but it won’t happen because under the law, he’s what’s known as a “public figure”, and it’s a lot harder for a public figure to sue for libel or slander than it is for us Non- public figures.
In the context of defamation actions (libel and slander) as well as invasion of privacy, a public figure cannot succeed in a lawsuit on incorrect harmful statements in the United States — unless there is proof that the writer or publisher acted with actual malice by knowing the falsity or by reckless disregard for the truth. The legal burden of proof in defamation actions is thus higher in the case of a public figure than in the case of an ordinary person. Basically, you can say anything about a public figure and get away with it.
I volunteer to waste the next two weeks in Florida on a fact-finding mission to see who is lying. This research will be very extensive. I promise I will search every beach close to my hotel and do surveys and canvass the bar patrons at the local drinking holes to see if any of them have any first-hand knowledge of this alleged conspiracy to not teach actual Merican history. Does anyone know how I go about setting up a Go Fund Me page?
It’s worth pointing out that MSNBC is generally regarded as the bottom of the barrel in the network news biz. It’s the last stop on the road to anonymity. Most of the people there couldn’t get a job anywhere else. It’s why almost nobody watches it. So I wouldn’t worry much about what Andrea Mitchell thinks or says.
Democrats should be angry but Democrats don’t think therefore they have no idea what is going on in the world beyond what they are told is going on in the world. They are very much the side of “low information voters” that they believe their opposition to be.
