Isn’t the CDC the Center for Disease Control and Prevention? So why are they advising schools on LGBTQ inclusivity for children?

According to them, their new tool is supposed to improve “health and academic success of all youth.” You know what would support the health of these children? Giving them a councilor they can speak with. One that would not just give in and validate everything their feeling, but actually COUNCIL them and let them know that the changes happening are completely normal, and work through that with them.
Why is the CDC getting involved in this anyway? Don’t they have another harmful booster to push on people? Don’t they have more fear mongering to do? Instead they’re encouraging educators, not trained psychologists or mental health workers, to talk to kids about this.
Educators take this assessment to grade themselves on whether or not they are already creating a supportive environment, ready to be an ally, and ready to discuss this with children. There are 3 outcomes to the assessment, “Commit to Changes,” “Beginning to Break Through,” and “Awesome Ally.”

So if an educator takes the assessment and they receive mostly Cs, they are encouraged to make changes to be more inclusive, “and you will move up the continuum in no time!”
If this is what this department is spending it’s time and energy on, rather than the actual health and well-being of children, the government can go right ahead and eliminate this department and redistribute the funds to something that will actually help our youth.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (why isn’t ‘P’ in the acronym?)
So are they saying homosexuality is a disease? Are they trying to “control and prevent” it?
Are they saying the Ts are a disease? Are they trying to “control and prevent” it?
I’ll partially agree on the second one (mental illness though, not disease). Check that, I just looked up the definition of ‘disease’, now I completely agree with the second one.
Clearly they must control the disease that is LGBTQ+ advocacy.
