World Boxing Council Adding Trans Category, Will Still Match Trans Boxers Based On “At Birth” Sex

This is actually kind of hilarious to me. Transgender athletes competing against athletes of a different biological sex is a huge deal these days. Usually, women who identify as men and compete against other men doesn’t cause much of a stir as those women don’t usually win because biological men have a distinct physiological advantage over biological women in most sports. It does happen, but not as often as men who identify as women and compete against other women, who often dominate the sport because biological men have distinct… you know the rest. See how that works? Biological men should not be competing against biological women, even if those biological men dress and act like women, because they have male bodies with a distinct physiological advantage in most sports.

A suggested compromise is to just make a whole category in each sport specifically for transgender athletes. So let’s pretend like that’s exactly what we do. We make a trans category in every sport. But what about sports where you are supposed to match athletes with comparable athletes for one-on-one competition? How do you match these athletes?

That’s exactly what’s happening with the World Boxing Council. They’ve decided to offer a transgender category for competitors in order to be super inclusive of the trans community. You see, trans athletes insist they can’t be forced to compete against competitors of their biological sex because it’s discriminatory, but the World Boxing Council also has to protect their biologically female athletes from competing against the much stronger and more dangerous biological males who identify as female. Thus the transgender category.

But guess how they’re going to match these transgender athletes in their one-on-one competitions? BY SEX AT BIRTH! HAHAHAHA Y’all, they made a whole separate trans category for inclusivity, and the trans athletes are STILL going to have to compete against other athletes of their same biological sex, just like they insist they can’t be forced to do in regular men’s and women’s divisions! And the reason for that is STILL the fact that biological men have a distinct physiological advantage over biological women in most sports, including boxing. It’s unfair, and in boxing it’s dangerous, to have a biological man competing against a biological woman. So even in the trans division, a trans woman who is biologically male would have a distinct physiological advantage over a trans man who is biologically female. World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman said,

“It is the time to do this, and we are doing this because of safety and inclusion. We have been the leaders in rules for women’s boxing – so the dangers of a man fighting a woman will never happen because of what we are going to put in place.”

“In boxing, a man fighting a woman must never be accepted regardless of gender change. There should be no gray area around this, and we want to go into it with transparency and the correct decisions. Woman to man or man to woman transgender change will never be allowed to fight a different gender by birth.”

So basically inclusion, but also biology. As I’m thinking about it, you know what else this new rule does? It significantly shrinks the competition for trans athletes. Think of how many transgender-identifying boxers there are right now. Not a whole heck of a lot. So the trans females and trans males can only compete against other trans-identifying athletes of their same at-birth sex. How many potential competitors does that leave them with? This either means they make bank because they don’t have to be that good to be the best, or all their hard work is for nothing because they can only ever compete against a couple of people.

I find this to be seriously hilarious. Boxing is jumping through all these hoops to satisfy the radical woke mob’s cry for trans inclusivity in sports, only to essentially change absolutely nothing at all. And trans athletes are screaming about inclusivity and when they get it, it’s basically a total bummer in terms of competition. Because no matter how hard they cry about their identity, it literally does not change biology.
