This is crazy! There is a plastic surgeon in Powell, Ohio who was live streaming on TikTok and answering questions, all while operating on patients. Her license was suspended and she currently has three active lawsuits that have been filed against her. One patient was not given proper discharge instructions. Another had to undergo further treatment due to issues with the surgery.

She’s a TikTok star with nearly 1M followers & livestreams surgeries while answering questions
If your Dr. is a “tiktok star” you should probably find a new one pic.twitter.com/bvamUezIJU
The board that suspended her stated, “Dr. Grawe’s continued practice presents a danger of immediate and serious harm to the public.” Ya think!? The harm she is doing to the patients is bad enough, but the fact that she posting videos and pictures of patients, presumably while they are unconscious and most likely have not consented to the posting of those videos/pictures is completely unethical.
Unethical as it may be, it really isn’t breaking the law. One doctor, Dr. Houser, stated, “The problem with social media is that there really has been no regulation by the local, state or even the federal level on what is presented.” So I guess it technically isn’t illegal…yet. But I’m sure these suits will create some case law, and then probably some actual laws, at least on the local level, shortly after.
One patient, Amber Runyon, found and had been keeping up with Dr. Grawe on Snapchat. She had a surgery done by Dr. Grawe, and within 24 of the surgery she started having recovery issues. She was advised not to go to the emergency room or the hospital. She was out of work for 2 months and still cannot completely stand up. Runyon stated, “I thought she was the best, because that’s the way she made me feel…but I should have dug a little deeper.
Attorney James Arnold represent 2 other former patients of Dr. Grawe. One was instructed not to call 911 after complications post-surgery. His client ended up having to have an emergency surgery due to complications from Dr. Grawe’s surgery.
Moral of the story, if you’re going into surgery, know who is operating on you. If you find them on social media and they’re posting videos of surgeries, maybe avoid them.

I used to work for an insurance agency, and a co-worker had a customer performing surgery while talking about his policy.
When will the medical license of the “doctor” performing an abortion that was recorded and aired on NPR, be suspended?
Unfortunately Mike. The HIPPA basically went away during the covid shots.
This doctor definitely should lose their medical license.
>it really isn’t breaking the law.
