Cate Blanchett is starring in a new movie called Tar, which is about a lesbian orchestra conductor who faces being canceled. I haven’t seen it, but absolutely LOVE the clip that’s floating around social media right now. BEHOLD:
Cate Blanchett takes on critical race theory and gender identity politics in her new role. Absolutely based.

She’s a phenomenal actress, and from what I’ve read, it sounds like she plays a character who’s absolutely awful in multiple ways. So whether or not she deserves whatever fate she faces in the film isn’t clear, I suppose, unless you’ve seen it. But the scene above? PERFECTION.
Imma see it. You?

The scene is priceless and memorable. The movie? I guess we’ll see. But of all the features in the scene, the one that really strikes home for me is Tar’s statement that the musician / conductor must “obliterate yourself.” There is a world of truth there, for why else would the musicians elect to play the piece? Why else would the conductor choose to conduct it? Such a choice is a recognition of someone else’s greatness: in this case, the composer. But for the Left, such an acknowledgement must be subordinated to their “woke” agenda. “The personal is the political,” don’t y’know.
