Tim Allen is an iconic actor who has played or voiced some of the most beloved characters in children and family entertainment history. He’s funny, he’s likable, and he’s talented, and Leftists hate him because he’s also an outspoken conservative. They cannot stand that he exists, much less that he’s allowed to speak and spread his conservative views using his massive entertainment platform and fame. Now, people are angry at a particular line in a new series on Disney Plus, staring Tim Allen, the iconic Santa Clause from previous movies.
Apparently, Tim Allen accurately states that “saying ‘Merry Christmas to all’ has suddenly become problematic.” And he’s right! It used to be that if people said “Merry Christmas to you when you don’t celebrate Christmas, then you simply nod your head and move on, graciously accepting their joyful exclamation of good will, or you respond with a joyful exclamation of good will consistent with your personal celebration. But now, anyone who dares to say anything that is not considered sufficiently “inclusive” is basically considered violence and bigotry. And as not everyone celebrates Christmas, it’s become problematic to say “Merry Christmas to all” because that means some might be forced to listen to you tell them something that does not conform with their beliefs. The absolute horror!
Hilariously, self-described “former film critic” and “current filmmaker” Scott Weinberg said on Twitter that this line is “a low-key effort to vilify anyone who doesn’t celebrate this holiday.” And people piled on after that
it just struck me as a truly weird thing to put in a kid's series. "<someone> wants to stop us from saying Merry Christmas!" is not some random campaign. it's a low-key effort to vilify anyone who doesn't celebrate this holiday. in a grown-up movie I'd just groan and ignore it.

Um, no. It’s not. It’s accurately pointing out that everyone is now obligated to walk on egg shells and self-censor for fear of “offending” someone. If you don’t celebrate Christmas and someone tells you “Merry Christmas,” it is possible to either ignore them or respond with a joyful greeting of your own that is consistent with your beliefs. You don’t have to be offended, and it’s not vilifying anyone to point out that we now live in a society full of overly sensitive snowflakes who are offended about everything everyone says that doesn’t perfectly conform to their own beliefs.
Also, do you know how many things are in kids series these days that I consider to be inappropriate? I so often say to myself just what this man said–“In a grown-up movie I’d just groan and ignore it.” So the Left is allowed to pack children’s entertainment with things that conservatives consider problematic, but Tim Allen can’t make a joke about the society being overly sensitive and easily offended without it suddenly being considered inappropriate for a kids entertainment series? Seriously, THIS is what they’re taking issue with? Not the rampant perversion being normalized in kids shows, or the self-destructive behaviors being glamorized, or the violence or sexuality being glorified? A joke about our overly sensitive society is what these people think is inappropriate for a kids show?! Give me a break.

10+ years ago when I worked at the campus bookstore of a prominent Catholic university, I was told to say ‘happy holidays.’ I asked why. I said we are a Catholic institution. My manager just said to say it.
(This bookstore was managed and operated by a separate company, not the university itself.)
The level of christophobia in liberal circles is appalling. What? You didn’t celebrate “Pride Month”? How dare you!! You must celebrate that or you are a bigot.
