Despite the January 6th committee running a sham witch-hunt tribunal for basically the last 2 years, there are still quite a lot of questions about what really happened on January 6th at the Capitol building. But they aren’t the kind of questions that the J6 committee actually wants to get answers to, which means they aren’t going to be asking those kind of questions of the people who might actually have the answers. But Louisiana Representative Clay Higgins was willing to ask one of the questions that Americans are interested in–did the FBI have informants in the Capitol that day, what was the extent of the FBI foreknowledge of the events, and how were informants involved in those events?
And FBI Director Christopher Wray responded with a very interesting non-answer. Basically, he can’t (or won’t) tell us whether the FBI had “confidential human sources” planted in the crowd at the Capitol, whether they knew anything about what would happen, or whether they influenced the events. Not surprisingly, he says we shouldn’t “read anything into” his refusal to answer these important questions.. But don’t worry everyone, he pinky promises and crosses his heart that it’s “categorically false” that FBI informants or employees in any way instigated the events of January 6th.
Rep. Higgins correctly points out that his answer should be a very easy and quick “No.” And the fact that it isn’t certainly does not dispel any suspicions about FBI involvement. We can’t help but read into your refusal to answer, Dir. Wray.
REP. HIGGINS: "Did you have confidential human sources dressed as Trump supporters inside The Capitol on January 6th prior to the doors being opened?"
