Although it’s also the de facto town square, Twitter is primarily a for-profit company. And while Elon Musk does seem to have real hopes and dreams for improving humanity and society, he is primarily a savvy businessman. And recent reports regarding this businessman’s newly acquired company has entitled leftist snowflakes screaming, and I find it hilarious. According to reports from The Verge that are apparently based on internal communications, “Twitter is planning to start charging $20 per month for verification.”
And all of a sudden, the Blue Check brigade, who sees themselves as social elitists, are big mad that they might have to pay for the privilege of being labeled as more important than everyone else on Twitter.
Hilariously, David Hogg is one of those entitled snowflakes who is freaking out, as though he has ever done anything worthy of being verified as more important than anyone else. He also hilariously says that Twitter should actually be paying verified users rather than expecting them to pay for verification as they are “a major reason why many people are on Twitter in the first place.” Honey, you’re not that special. No one’s on Twitter to hear what you have to say. And the fact that you think you’re that special is honestly hilarious. The people who matter and the people who attract people to Twitter don’t need verification. There are accounts that are FAR more socially influential than David Hogg who aren’t verified. But all these screeching lefties can’t fathom the idea of not being socially labeled as important.
I am not paying $240 a year to be verified.

Absolutely the fuck not.
Verified people are a major reason why many people are on twitter in the first place. If anything they should be paying us. Verified accounts bring people to twitter and help with ad revenue.

To add insult to injury for these snowflakes, Elon Musk has apparently given Twitter employees an ultimatum. They either meet a November 7th deadline for developing the new verification program or they are fired. How DARE he! How dare the owner of a $44 billion company expect his employees to buckle down and work hard doing something productive for the company rather than just censoring people they don’t like.

I don’t have a problem with blue checkmarks having to pay a 20 dollar a month fee. I’m pretty certain 99% of those blue checkmark people are extremely filthy rich.
So you’re saying Twitter might be hiring soon?
