Wow. James Corden is reeeeeeally letting people see who he is lately, isn’t he?
Last night Corden talked about Elon Musk and Twitter, and he cracked a joke about Twitter being the “town square.” At first, when I saw it on its own, I thought, “This is a good joke, and yet, it’s giving me ALL THE DEJA VU.”
And then I saw Ricky Gervais tweet this:
The bit about the town square advert for guitar lessons is brilliant 😂 https://t.co/KXKcHVbDrT

It hit me like a ton of bricks. Ricky Gervais’ stand-up is exactly where I’d seen/heard that joke before. And then someone put the clips together:
Plagiarism? I don’t know what people are talking about, these two jokes by @JKCorden and @rickygervais are barely similar pic.twitter.com/9kYOHiOiLj

CAN YOU EVEN?
Now, it’s possible Corden has a bunch of loser writers who thought they could get away with this, and Corden had no idea when he told the joke that it had been swiped from Gervais.
OR, it’s possible that Corden is a worse person than we even thought.
You decide.

Ricky who? Call me old fashioned, but I prefer comedy greats like Carol Burnett, Foster Brooks, Lucille Ball, Dean Martin, Phyllis Diller, John Byner — his impressions were amazingly spot on, Paul Lynde, the Three Stooges and others too numerous to list. A Tarzan spoof featuring Jack Benny and Carol Burnett is a one-two punch in comedy. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
