White House Financial Advisor States They Have No Plans To Change Their Economic Policies

Economic Advisor Jared Bernstein was on Fox this morning discussing everyone’s favorite topic, inflation.  When asked if the White House had planned to “pivot on its economic policies,” he said no.

After his flat out “no” he went on to basically say that they don’t need to because things are looking up.  However, he completely skirted around the question he was asked.  But what else is new with this administration?  They have become pros at not answering the questions they have been asked.  Thankfully Bill called him out on it. 

He goes on to say that gas prices are down 5% from the start of September.  I don’t know about where you live, but where I live, they rose 30 cents over night last week and are about the same as they were in September.  So actually the complete opposite of what this man is saying is true, at least where I am.  His counter when pushed on gas prices was to say that people are paying $1.10 less than we were in mid-June.  But, you know what?  I was paying about $2.00 less 2 years ago before Biden was president.  Sooo that argument doesn’t really work for me.  I swear these people think we are stupid and can’t see with our own eyes what things cost.

He also makes a comment in passing about how he basically doesn’t believe there is a recession.  He stated, “We’ve argued about this and you have argued there is a recession out there.  It’s hard to square with the facts on the ground.”  I’m sorry, but where is it “hard to square?”  It is very evident there is a recession; however, the definition keeps changing, so I guess it’s a lot easier to deny that we are in one.

Our friends at Fox were kind enough to put this little statistic up for us while this man continued to rattle on about how inflation is going down and the supply chain has made a turn for the better.

But, “inflation is actually higher in Europe than it is here,” so we should just stop whining about not being able to put food on our tables.  These people are insufferable.
