Every time Biden says the wrong thing, it’s dismissed as a “gaffe.”But sometimes, those gaffes are just a politician accidentally telling the absolute, unfiltered truth on a subject. A Freudian slip, perhaps. And that’s exactly what just happened to Minnesota Democrat Representative Angie Craig in a debate against Republican Tyler Kistner for a key swing district, which the National Republican Congressional Committee has targeted for a Republican pickup.
She alleged that her opponent would vote to help special interest groups like Big Pharma and Big Oil. She said,
“I’ve had my head down doing everything to reduce drug costs, while Mr. Kistner is being funded by big pharma. I’ve had my head down fighting for year-round sales of E-15 supporting our family farmers. So you can’t just complain about it when get to Congress, you actually have to put your head down and try to do something about it”.”
Kistner balked at the insinuation that he’s funded by and supports special interest groups, saying,
“Coming from the member who receives the second-most of special interest in the entire Congress of 435 members, I’d love to see what type of special interest money I’ve actually been receiving. Because all I know is I’m getting funded by the grassroots effort, which has spread across this entire district, and I can see half of them at least, almost all of them, in this room right now. That’s exactly who I’m fighting for, that’s exactly who I’m funded by.”
Craig responded,
“This is the second-most expensive House race in the nation right now. And what is driving that is super PAC funding and that super PAC funding for Tyler Kistner is coming from big oil and big pharma. Tyler Kistner and his funding from super PACs, that is how they’re trying to hold me accountable.”
Then she said it. Is it a gaffe or the accidental truth? You decide. She said,
“I will never stop standing up for big pharma and standing against my constituents.”

If I was her opponent, that line would be in every commercial I ran as soon as she said it.
>I’ve had my head down fighting for year-round sales of E-15
Ethanol is terrible in every way (bad for engines, lower gas mileage, raises many other prices, more land for fertilizer heavy corn, etc.), stop “fighting” for it.
>Congress of 435 members
For the love of Pete- Congress is 535 plus a few non-voting members.
The House is 435 (plus some non-voting), the Senate is 100. They are both part of Congress. Why in the Hell have so many people forgotten that in the last few years? It is not Congress and the Senate, it is either Congress or the House and Senate. It is not Congressmen and Senators, it is either Congressmen or Representatives and Senators.
