Just when you think Gavin Newsom can’t become more of a greasy, vile, disgusting human, he does.
A month ago the California Senate approved a bill that would make California a sanctuary state for transgender youth. It then went to Gavin Newsom’s desk where, I’m sure you have guessed, it was signed by him this past Thursday.
Newsom stated that the bill “will ensure these kids and their families can seek and obtain the medical and mental health care they need.” Even though he mentions families, he doesn’t actually give a crap what a parent thinks is best for their own child. If a parent does agree, the state can take the child. At what point did we let parents stop being parents and let the government decide what was best for children?
Not only is this an issue in California itself, but it’s an issue for the entire country. The bill allows the California state courts to take control of children from OTHER STATES that want transgender treatment but can’t get them in their own state. This is complete insanity.
The good news in all of this, if there is any, is that it is most likely unconstitutional. It takes a fundamental right away from parents, and if it was challenged in a court of law, the state of California would most likely lose.
The Alliance Defending Freedom, or ADF, is speaking out about this bill being in complete violation of the Constitution and fundamental parental rights. So here’s hoping they get a lawsuit filed ASAP so this bill can be ruled unconstitutional before it does any damage.

Like regulating wheat you grow on your farm for your consumption, like Obamacare, like the thousands of gun laws, like Social Security, like everything that relies on “interstate commerce”?
Don’t count your weasels before they pop.
California is a perfect example of what Democrat rule looks like. Maybe it’s not quite as bad as Detroit but it’s getting there.
I listen to trans folks like Marcus Dib, Buck Angel, and Blaire White and all of them are against allowing kids under 18 to transition. Being trans themselves, they should know how fickle kids can be and how easy it is for gay/lesbian teens to get sucked into transitioning because they feel different from their straight peers only to regret their decision when they are older. All three often interview people who regret transitioning, including people who went through bottom surgery. They all see the danger in allowing kids to transition before they have the maturity and knowledge to make such a life altering decision for themselves. Plus childhood transitioning is so new, the medical community has absolutely no idea of the long term implications. It’s scary but even scarier when a state takes it upon itself to promote such experimentation!
I had to laugh at the irony that the bill will them “obtain the mental health care that they need”. More like, we will be totally complicit with your mental illness and just tell you to “be you”.
Right!? It does literally the opposite of helping them. Plus, you know, taking them from their parents and letting the California government have protective custody over them would be even worse for their mental health (at least in the long run). But you can’t rationalize with these people.
