Thank GOODNESS for our really smart and savvy government, y’all. They sure do know how to manage our hard-earned money (and line their pockets while they’re at it!). They’re so PROUD of themselves for passing the climate bullsh*t “Inflation Reduction” thingamajig that they passed this week, and they’ve convinced a bunch of dumb people out there that it’s going to SAVE them money (bless their hearts). Now that it’s been passed, we can see what’s actually in it, amirite, Nancy?
And lower-income houses are going to see huuuuuuuuuge savings, dontchaknow! This guy explains how in a lovely, condensed manner:
Lower income households will see huge savings of $1800/year on energy costs from Inflation Reduction Act while fighting climate change.

How to get these "transformative" savings?
Purchase new electric car, install solar panels, and electric heat pump.https://t.co/1dAfIs2lhF
That’s about right.
If you don’t believe me (or him), ask Jennifer Granholm.
Here’s a more detailed explanation of how you can reap the benefits, minions:
Step 1: Buy 40-60,000 EV

Step 2: Install home 700$ EV charger.
Step 3: Install solar panels, battery bank and wiring- 25,000 ish
Step 4: Save 1800 dollars?
My sister works at Taco Bell. She’s the definition of low income and there’s no way in hell she could swing this.
So if my math is right here, all you need to do is invest about $75,700 (give or take a few thousand), and you, too, can save 1800 bucks! Sounds like government math to me.

You’ve been played once again, America.

Ryan is in Atlanta GA where he has never tried to heat a house when the temperature was -40 with an electric heat pump. HEY…I have an idea. Let’s give Ryan a solar powered fan in July and tell him how much he’ll save not having to run his AC.
Sure, spend about $138,000.00 to get about $1800.00 a year in tax breaks. So after more than 70 years, you will be dead and the savings will have covered the upfront costs. But then if you add in maintenance and such, you will be in the hole. Oh, and make sure the ev you buy actually qualifies for the rebates – most do not, either because they cost too much or do not meet the mostly made in the US requirements.
Wonder how much of that 1800.00 they will need to spend on the increased costs of goods and services because of the tax increases on corporations and energy?
I have a better idea, folks. You send me $75K and I’ll send you a check for $2K. We’ll just cut out the pesky middle man (i.e. the IRS)! That way you don’t even have to buy any solar panels, EV or anything else. Just send me the check. See how streamlined it is?
But that is a savings of $1800 a year, so after only 40 years you’ll be making money. Sure, your car is going to have about 5 million miles on it, the solar panels will barely work none of your batteries will hold a charge, but with inflation and scarcity that free and clear $1800 might buy you that 5 pack of ramen.
What percent of low income folks are renters who don’t own the building they live in, so it’s up to the landlord to install solar panels. And if the landlord does install them, you don’t think he will pass those costs along to the renter in higher rent? Why would a landlord install them, he’s not paying the electric bill.
How many low income folks live in an apartment building that doesn’t even have a roof over their ceiling? It’s the next apartment above them. No space for solar.
I own my home and I’m not buying a 40k car much less a 60k car. Why? because that’s how I own a home, I didn’t over spend on stuff like a 40k car, ever.
Even if I assume the government is going to pay for it in full how the ever loving heck can a REBATE help a low income family save money when they can’t afford the up front cost of the installation in the first place?
I’m not sure which is the scarier concept that these people are just terrible at their propaganda or that this level of propaganda works.
You know the government doesn’t have ANY money that they don’t take first from the people. You know this right?
A) It can print/borrow money from other sources. so that’s not true. That’s kinda the reason we are seeing out of control inflation.
B) How is it relevant where the government got the money from to the point I made?
They are advertising it will save low income people money but just by functionality of the bill this is blatantly not true.
