Joe Biden had literally barely stepped off Air Force One for a visit to Israel when things started going downhill. After walking down the stairs, he then awkwardly stands there and asks, “What am I doing now?” After being instructed to stand for a picture and carefully prodded into position, a group of military and other officials surrounding him then have to carefully lead him off to the side, including one person who gently put his arm around the President’s shoulders to steer him in the right direction. Because our President, who is in severe mental decline, generally has no idea what’s going on and has very little capacity to think for himself.

As he takes the podium to speak, he fumbles over the script in front of him and even mistakenly explains that he intends to “keep alive the honor of the Holocaust” before correcting himself to say “horror” of the Holocaust. It’s hard when you don’t really know what you’re supposed to say and have to try to read everything as you go.

Now, credit where credit is due. After Joe Biden slowly hobbled over to visit several Holocaust survivors, he insisted that they stay seated and he instead bent down to talk with them. That was incredibly respectful and considerate, and I appreciated it.
