You guys have got to read this ridiculous editorial in the U of VA newspaper.
Remember when universities were a safe haven of free speech, when they encouraged diversity of thought, when they challenged students to expand their thinking by listening to a wide variety of opinions, and when they weren’t complete woke indoctrination centers hell-bent on stifling conservative voices?
Good times.
It’s not like that anymore. And at the University of Virginia, the editorial board from the school paper is legit TERRIFIED of Mike Pence speaking to people.
Imagine that. Imagine suggesting that the former VP shouldn’t be welcome to speak to students. Why shouldn’t he be welcome? Because according to the lunatics at The Cavalier Daily, Mike Pence spreads “rhetoric that directly threatens the presence and lives of our community members.” And further, the editorial board members “refuse to condone platforming Pence.”
Holy crap what a bunch of nutless assbags these people are at U of VA. And they’ve got a stern message for the University decision makers allowing the former VP to speak:
To be silent in the face of those like Pence is a choice — in this case, a choice to fail to protect the lives of those on Grounds who Pence blatantly threatens through his rhetoric and policies. To hide behind a sentiment that celebrates engaging with “leaders and experts from a wide variety of fields and perspectives” is to actively undermine the values of diversity, honor, integrity, trust and respect that the University purports to celebrate. Silence in the face of a homophobic, racist and transphobic politician only makes room for such “perspectives” at our University.
These people are commies. Full stop. They don’t believe in our republic. They don’t hold American values. They want anyone who doesn’t fall in lock-step with their radical thinking to be silenced. It’s decidedly un-Democratic. It’s classic fascism to suppress opposition. Do these leftist nutcases NOT GET THAT?!?!??!
But to be perfectly honest I’m kinda stoked this is all happening in the news right now because it made me remember this video Daisy and I made when Notre Dame students were freaking out that Pence was coming to speak to them for commencement back in 2017. It’s still totally on message.
