Seattle Teacher’s Union Claims Forced Masking Fosters “Feelings Of Safety And Normalcy” For Brainwashed Kids

I know the media is focusing on a pretty major global distraction from all Covid-19 accountability, but here’s a domestic story for you. I’m sprinkling this article with citations about mask efficacy, so no one feels resigned to fall back on the horrendous CDC phone survey that spit out data that they had to label “not statistically significant.”

The Seattle public school district teachers union is demanding that children continue to be forced to wear unnecessary and largely ineffective masks, despite emerging evidence of adverse effects that may outweigh the minimal potential benefits, and despite mask mandates being lifted in the state of Washington.

Seattle’s teacher union argues for mask mandate until May 1st because “removing masks will significantly disrupt that sense of normalcy.”

Do you want to know what their rational was for continuing this farce? They’re literally arguing that it’s been their “most important in-classroom and in-building mitigation measure during this pandemic,” which actually isn’t entirely backed up by the actual science regarding masks.

But here’s the very best (or worst) part. Certainly the most Orwellian part, at any rate.

“Our students and educators have been wearing masks in schools for over a year now, and it has become routine and accepted. In fact, masks contribute to feelings of safety and normalcy that schools provide our students.”

They can’t be serious. These children are suffering from some strange form of Stockholm syndrome, and the teachers are excited about it. What they are really saying is that they believe they have so thoroughly brainwashed and conditioned these children to accept and comply with an unnecessary and largely ineffective practice that granting them freedom from being forced to accept and comply with that unnecessary and largely ineffective practice would be psychologically damaging to them.

I guess they’re just going to ignore the damage that we are discovering is being done by forced compliance in the first place? Speech delays, social and emotional development issues, mental health issues stemming from the isolation and anonymity created by covering everyone’s face, etc?

Then they end their statement with their favorite woke progressive leftist buzz word–diversity.

“A large number of children under 12 remain unvaccinated with disproportionately higher numbers of those living in our more socially and economically diverse communities. It is important that with masking changes the voices of those most vulnerable to COVID be heard, Educators and Students alike.”

When you know that the actual science behind the efficacy of masks is shaky at best, and that there is mounting evidence in opposition to masks, it’s easy to fall back on woke progressive leftist ideology that is apparently exempt from all the pesky rules about providing actual evidence that supports a claim.

Unsurprisingly, the Chicago Teachers Union is taking the same stance. Chicago is lifting their mask mandate in schools, and teachers unions are freaking the heck out and citing all the shaky science and woke political science to support their outrage.

Ultimately, I don’t think these teachers unions actually care about the kids at all. They care about the narrative and they care about being “right” about the narrative with which they’ve so staunchly aligned themselves.
