We all know that Nancy Pelosi is a raging hypocrite. It’s infuriating to see such a hypocrite in a leadership position. But one of the perks of being the Speaker of the House (aside from blatantly violating covid rules to get your hair done) is that you can use your power to overturn the results of elections that you don’t like.
Yes, I’m serious. She and other house Democrats are moving to overturn the results of the Congressional election in Iowa’s second district.
This election has been counted and recounted multiple times and was ultimately certified by the state. Republican Miller-Meeks won her district by just 6 votes. Hart, the defeated Democrat, filed a motion to challenge the election results through the House Administration Committee, which is the first step to overturning the election results.
Remind me how many conservative voices, including a duly elected sitting president, were silenced for questioning election integrity?
For questioning election results that made absolutely no statistical sense and which were extremely close margins?
For calling for recounts and investigations just to make sure?
Apparently you’re only allowed to question election results and call for investigations if you’re a Democrat. But if you are a Republican, you just have to accept the word of the politicians that the election was “fortified,” and that questioning election results is a threat to democracy.
The Wall Street Journal published an article on this bizarre and blatantly hypocritical move. The article explains,
“GOP Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks won the November race by 47 votes in the first count and six votes after lawyers wrangled over ballots in a recount. Democrat Rita Hart wants the House to use its constitutional authority as “judge of the elections” of its Members to impose another recount and reverse the outcome.”
Defeated Democrat Ms. Hart petitioned the Committee claiming that 22 additional ballots should have been counted in her favor. Ms. Miller-Meeks replied to Hart’s petition stating that her challenge of the election results should be dismissed because Ms. Hart “declined in December to raise her complaints in a special Iowa court designed to resolve contested elections.”
According to the Wall Street Journal report,
“Ms. Hart’s attorneys had the chance to take complaints before a five-judge contest court in Iowa that could have applied state law on issues like ballot signatures and seals.”
But instead of utilizing the state process, she preferred to go straight to the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives in Washington, DC, and have them use their authority as “judge of the elections” to overturn the certified election result.
Hold on. Isn’t that literally exactly what Democrats have been freaking out about for months? That some people might try to use their constitutional authority to overturn certified election results or force investigations of contested races? That’s why they’ve called Jan. 6th an “insurrection.” And now they’re trying to do literally the exact thing they’ve been fighting against for months?
On Wednesday of last week, the House Administration Committee’s Democrat majority sided with defeated Democrat Ms. Hart to investigate her election. Not surprisingly, they “tabled” Ms. Miller-Meeks’ counter-motion to dismiss the complaint. I guess if they don’t officially discuss and vote on Ms. Miller-Meeks’ motion, they can just ignore it and pretend like there’s not a legitimate counter-argument?
And listen to this. Democrat Rep. Zoe Lofgren of California literally said,
“The American people deserve to know who actually won this election.”
Are you kidding me right now? How did she even say this with a straight face?
Half the country has been saying this for months, and countless conservative voices have been censored for it. For months, half the country has been calling for investigations and recounts because yes, the American people do deserve to know who actually won this election.
And Rep. Lofgren is saying this as though this district race wasn’t already counted, recounted, and certified in a 5-0 state elections board vote.
The Wall Street Journal called out this hypocrisy, saying that House Democrats could “avoid inserting themselves into an after-the-vote-is-counted election dispute” by simply acknowledging that the state process was respected, but instead Speaker Pelosi said that a full House vote to reverse the outcome of a counted, recounted, and certified election result is a possibility.
.@GStephanopoulos asks @SpeakerPelosi why she’s trying to steal an election where the votes were “counted, recounted, and certified by the state.”
Pelosi says it is ok to overturn the results because the Republican candidate only won by 6 votes.

What does Nancy Pelosi say?
“Well it was 6 votes. It was 6 votes.”
Does the fact that it was only 6 votes mean that we can just disregard the state process for contesting and certifying election results and go straight to the House majority to decide elections for us? So maybe our vote doesn’t actually matter because the House majority will just decide instead.
Apparently, if it’s a really close race and it was a Democrat who lost, you can just circumvent the state election processes and then go straight to the Democrat House majority to overturn the certified election for you. I guess this is what they mean when they say the election was “fortified.”
