I often feel like woke progressives are as racist as the racists they think they are fighting against. And I’m just baffled that they really don’t see it. Here’s an example:
A racist believes: Your skin color tells me all I need to know. Once I know the color of your skin, I know exactly what to think of you, how to treat you, and what to assume about you.
A woke progressive believes: Your skin color tells me all I need to know. Once I know the color of your skin, I know exactly what to think of you, how to treat you, and what to assume about you.
How do they not see this?
Well, here’s yet another example that makes absolutely no sense.
An “anti-racist” school leadership training in a wealthy Chicago suburb, Naperville Central High School, told administrators that expecting teachers who are people of color to teach white students is a form of “covert white supremacy.”
A black teacher teaching a white student is actually white supremacy? So are they calling for segregated classrooms? Only black teachers can teach black students and only white teachers can teach white students, etc.? I honestly can’t believe they’re serious. That is patently ridiculous.
A whistle blower who attended the training told The Federalist that “antiracist coach” Dena Simmons, the keynote speaker of the “Countywide Equity Institute” training, explained to the attendees that “our education is based on a foundation of whiteness” and that Americans “are spiritually murdering” students.
The training laid out a number of examples of “covert white supremacy,” such as “not believing experiences of [people of color],” “police murdering [people of color],” “Euro-centric Curriculum,” “Expecting [people of color] to teach white people,” “assuming that good intentions are enough,” “celebrating Columbus Day,” “the bootstrap theory,” becoming a “self-appointed white ally,” and “colorblindness.”
One slide in the training explained that striving for “diversity” is insufficient because “diversity” does not focus enough on race and thus does not appropriately promote “racial justice.”
In fact, the term “racial justice” was carefully defined by one of the speakers at the training, explaining,
“Racial justice is the proactive creation, examination and enforcement of policies, practices, attitudes and actions to promote equitable opportunities, outcomes and treatments for people of all races. Racial justice is a conscious act, and individual and institutional responsibility.”
Similarly, “social justice” was defined as,
“Social justice: A vision of society in which the distribution of resources and power is equitable and all members are physically and psychologically safe and secure. Social justice involves social actors who have a sense of their own agency as well as a sense of social responsibility toward and with individuals and society.”
I guess that all the desegregation efforts of the civil rights activists who forced much needed progress in our society were all for naught. Woke progressives just want to segregate everyone again, and judge everyone based on the color of their skin.
