Y’all, you can’t make this up. A Manhattan federal judge literally thinks that it’s an intelligent move to release a former accomplice of Osama bin Laden, a man who participated in two al Qaida bombings of US embassies in Africa that killed over 220 people in 1998, because COVID-19 could threaten his bombing obese self.
Yeah, gee, what a bummer it would be to keep this fat killing machine in prison.
According to the Daily Caller:
“Defendant’s obesity and somewhat advanced age make COVID-19 significantly more risky to him than to the average person,” U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan ruled, the Post reported.

Bary was scheduled to be released on Oct. 28, his attorney’s presented his weight of 230 pounds, age and preexisting condition of asthma as reasons he should be freed early, the Post reported.
He’s literally behind bars and his meals are controlled by the prison. Like, can’t they just not feed him, or just feed him salads? They could even just keep everyone socially distanced in their cells until the pandemic diminishes.
“Mr. Bary’s continued incarceration now significantly increases his risk of infection, which could wreak disastrous health outcomes,” Bary’s lawyer said, the Post reported.
You know what else is a disastrous health outcome? Getting murdered.
Do they think that his obesity would prevent him from murdering more people? Perhaps they think he wouldn’t be fast enough.
I’m genuinely curious how someone can get fat in prison.
