Thanks to a clever and competent follower for sending this our way. I’ve never heard of Gabrielle Blair, who goes by @DesignMom, and honestly, I was a lot better off not knowing about her, but since I know about her now, I thought it might be a good idea to share her hideous personality with y’all, because I shouldn’t have to know about her alone.
She is very very very proud of how much she hates Trump supporters, so she posted this rant on her website, Twitter, and Instagram. The follower of ours who alerted me to this screed linked me to Gabrielle’s IG post, which introduced the rant as follows:
Warning: If you’re planning to vote for Trump, you’re not going to like this post. I wrote a Twitter thread yesterday. Many people have told me it offered them relief. But it has certainly made some people angry as well.
You can read the tweets by swiping left, you can read the thread on Twitter, or you can read the whole thread as a blog post on Design Mom. See stories for swipe-up links.
The thread is about me wanting to set boundaries with Trump supporters who follow me on social media, and Trump supporters I know in real life. Trump supporters want normalcy for themselves while their actions wreak chaos, pain, and death on the bulk of the country. I don’t want to give them that normalcy.
I want to enforce a boundary or a consequence. Yes, you can support Trump, but the consequence is I don’t want to give you access to my content. I don’t want you to watch my stories about the renovation in France, or read updates about my kids and how school is going. I don’t want you to have access (reading or commenting) to my parenting discussions. I don’t want to share my paint colors with you.
Yes, you can support Trump, but I will fundamentally think of you differently.
I know many, many people who are trying to save relationships with friends and family members who have been lost to Fox News and Q-anon conspiracies. Logic and reasoning doesn’t reach them. Perhaps enforcing a boundary, or withholding a part of the relationship (or all of the relationship if that’s safer for you) would help them take their actions seriously and understand there are negative consequences for them personally if they support Trump.
I’m aware this will stress some of you out. I wrote in the thread that you are welcome to unfollow me, and it’s true: you are welcome to unfollow me.
How are you handling your relationships these days? Have political and social issues affected your friendships? What sort of boundaries are you setting?
So now that you know what you’re in for, I thought I’d share Gabrielle’s rant, but also interject some responses to it mid-stream, because y’all need some common sense interjected in between the lines of insanity.
I know you know people like Gabrielle. We all do.
The title of her blog post? “The Consequences of Your Actions.” I’m including the screenshots of it as seen on Instagram.
Incidentally, the follower of ours who alerted me about this also let me know that Gabrielle’s IG followers plummeted after this post, from 179k down to 121k (she’s back up to 123k now). Not that Gabrielle cares, mind you. As you’ll read, she doesn’t. And she’ll likely claw her way right back up to the same number of followers because of all the garbage humans who think the same way she does.
Anyway. Here we go.

Oooo, she mad, y’all. Notice that she didn’t bother to actually watch the RNC – she just allowed herself to rage about “reports” of it.
Hang on to your hats.

Oh yeah – did I mention she lives in France? Because of COURSE she does.
I’ll pause here to say I absolutely agree with how she handles the complaint about posting political stuff. She doesn’t owe anyone anything, and she’s entitled to post whatever she wants to post on her own page. No one is forced to follow her. Is it disappointing when people whose professions/hobbies/talents we admire end up being complete a-holes like Gabrielle? Like Colin Kaepernick? Like 99% of Hollywood? Absolutely. Especially when much of the time, the reason they’ve achieved success and fame and fortune is BECAUSE of their following, who’ve supported them because of their talents and who don’t care about their politics.
But like Gabrielle said, there are consequences to your actions. Hence, the reason she lost 50k plus followers. Same reason people are turning away from sports.
We’ve also learned, however, that our culture tends to reward terrible behavior. The fact that Gabrielle continues to have a following at all is a perfect example of that.

I’m gonna guess that if Gabrielle is voting absentee, she’s voting for Biden, who has aligned himself with proud racists and who has directly CONTRIBUTED to America’s race problem, rather than confronting and improving issues that impact the black community directly, the way that Trump has done.
Decent people know that results matter. And 47 years of Biden’s continued failed policies have HURT BLACK AMERICANS.
Ask Alice Johnson.
And that whole “trained journalists” thing? I guess Gabrielle hasn’t paid attention to the number of times that main stream media journalists have outright lied, shown their bias, and misrepresented/mischaracterized the news. Citizen journalists are relied upon by people because “trained” journalists have lost their way, and just because Gabrielle is too poisoned with hate to realize that doesn’t make it any less true. There are those of us Trump supporters out here who don’t pay a lick of attention to Q, who know the earth isn’t flat, and who understand the pandemic is real but are able to think critically and understand that the reaction to the pandemic is overblown. By a lot. It’s a shame Gabrielle doesn’t also have the ability to think beyond what her “trained journalists” tell her. She’s fulfilling her role as a useful idiot to them.
Celebrity child trafficking rings don’t exist? Tell that to Jeffrey Epstein’s victims. They number in the 30s now, I think.
ICE fights child trafficking every single day, while Gabrielle’s probably busy eating her croissants while she rails against them.

Trump only looks out for himself? Is she freaking high? Trump had a fantastic life before coming to America’s rescue. He didn’t enrich himself by becoming president – quite the opposite, in fact. He could’ve enjoyed his days at Mar-a-lago in blissful relaxation, but he decided to look out for the regular people in America who’ve been getting the shaft by slimy politicians for decades. Is he an egomaniac? Sure. Does he achieve amazing results for the Americans he puts first? Yup.
Oh, and so NOW Gabrielle believes a girl about a sexual accusation? Because it involves Trump? Give me a break. I can’t wait to hear all about Gabrielle’s heartfelt sympathy toward Tara Reade. Or Juanita Brodderick. Or or or, etc. I won’t hold my breath.

People who aren’t open about their support for Trump don’t have shame about it. They have fear of insane idiots on the left who will hurt them for it. There’s a huge difference.
I don’t have a bumper sticker on my car because I don’t want it keyed. I don’t have a sign in my yard because I don’t want to attract vandals. If I were in a job where my boss was as insane as Gabrielle, I wouldn’t openly discuss my Trump support for fear of losing my paycheck. None of that is about shame. It’s about the unfair, un-American, and unsafe measures the Left takes against people who think differently than they do.
No one gives two sh*ts if Gabrielle Blair respects them or not. If losing her respect is the consequence of voting for Trump, I honestly wish I could do what Democrats do and put in multiple votes for him. I said earlier Trump was an egomaniac, but this chick’s got him beat on that front.
That black man who got shot was a rapist, Gabrielle. Does that matter to you? Does it matter that he had warrants out for his arrest and in fact resisted arrest and got violent with the cops? Doesn’t the whole story, in fact, matter?

If you’re the one defining who’s decent and who’s not, I’m pretty sure I’m happy to be excluded from the events to which you’re referring, Gabrielle. Your “community” sounds like it’s filled with elitist jerks who are unable to think critically. No thanks.

So, thanks, Gabrielle, for letting everyone know that you don’t care for freedom. You don’t deserve America, so I’m glad you’re not living here at the moment.

NO NORMAL TRUMP SUPPORTER WANTS TO DEBATE THE MERITS OF WHITE SUPREMACY YOU IGNORANT HAG. We happen to believe that there is no difference between white people and black people and brown people except the amount of melanin in their skin, which we happen to NOT GIVE A SH*T ABOUT.
OMG. Do leftists seriously think this? How can they be this ignorant?

There are millions of decent human beings supporting Trump, because we’ve seen what Democrats have to offer us. Burning cities, looting, out of control spending, power trips that put people out of business, higher crime rates, draconian shut-downs, silencing of free expression, fear – THANKS BUT NO THANKS. We’ll be over here, trying to salvage the freedoms guaranteed to us by our Constitution and enjoying the amazing economic prosperity brought to us by Republicans who understand that de-regulation, low taxes, and putting Americans first is paramount to a thriving country.
There’s a difference between being shunned by total idiots like Gabrielle Blair, and being PUNISHED FOR THINKING DIFFERENTLY by people who directly impact our lives and livelihoods. No one cares about the former. The latter is un-American, plain and simple.
Gabrielle would do herself some good to read this essay from one of our followers. She’d also do herself some good to recognize that she’s not nearly as important as she thinks she is.
Trump 2020.
