President Trump’s Sit Down Interview With “El Prez” of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, Is Here And I Want More

To say I am a Barstool Sports fan is an understatement. And to get specific, I am a huge fan of “El Prez” and his pizza reviews. The unboxings took over for a while, but both are awesome and made those long quarantine nights easier to get through.

Many people might think this matchup feels like it came out of the left-field, but when you look at the facts, these two couldn’t make a better pair.

Both men made successful brands worth lots of money by being the hardest workers in the room. Both men have outlasted countless attempts at cancellation from the cancel culture mob that rots our society. One is the President of the United States, and the other is El Prez of the Barstool Nation.

*You gotta wonder how pissed the people at ABC, CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the divisive mainstream media are that Davey the Day Trader scored an exclusive interview with the President.*

The interview, released in three parts and linked below, saw Dave and President Trump walk through the Oval office admiring the Resolute Desk, and finally making their way to their seats located just outside the Oval.

Pay attention to the beginning of Part One, while they are walking through the Oval office. President Trump is showing both Dave Portnoy the Oval office, but pay close attention to his face. The room carries the weight of a nation as well as our history. You can see this on their faces as they look around the room.

In the interview, Dave Portnoy asks the President to clarify his stance on kneeling for the anthem. The President believes that no athlete should be allowed to play sports in America and kneel for the national anthem.

I agree with the President. It makes absolutely no sense to protest police brutality by kneeling during our national anthem that represents its citizens and the men and women whose blood fills the red stripes on our flag.

Portnoy’s point is that a lot of people see kneeling for the flag as a peaceful protest, and with the rioting and looting going on, what other ways could these people peacefully protest?

I thought Trump handles the question brilliantly, suggesting that maybe try legally making changes before you result in burning the nation to the ground.

When you are dissatisfied with what is happening in your community, try to run for office, or create groups and charities that fight for change. Still, the idea that burning the country to the ground is somehow going to stop police brutality is ignorant. And to Trump’s point, the continued destruction of our nation’s traditions and values only serves to exaggerate the problem.

Trump knocked the interview out of the park. He was asked about his use of the famous “Trump power handshake,” and Trump uses his answer to list off some of the ways his relationships with foreign leaders helped the United States in significant ways. (oil production, jobs, trade relations, etc.) Trump says that he has been very tough on Russia and China despite the media saying the opposite.

The President seemed at ease during the entire interview. Trump had much different body language and overall feel than the Chris Wallace interview over the weekend. What a difference it makes having a guy that isn’t partisan and respects the Presidential Office, interviewing Trump.

Trump was asked about his Twitter account, and if he ever regrets any of the tweets he sends.

El Prez: “Do you ever tweet out and wake up saying, ‘man I wish didn’t send that out.'”

President Trump: “Often, too often.” *as he smirks*

Trump says that before Twitter, you used to write a heated letter, put it in the desk drawer, and after awhile, you think about it and throw it away. With Twitter being an instant and important mode of communication for Trump and his administration, he can’t just leave the platform. He says that there are many times he wishes that some tweets were never sent. And according to Trump, his biggest problem isn’t his original tweets, but his retweets that get him in a lot of trouble.

At the end, Dave asks for permission to facetime his unsuspecting father, who is not a Trump supporter. My anxiety was a 10. All I wanted was a peaceful and light-hearted interaction, and that is exactly what the three men gave.

Dave told President Trump that his dad is not a big fan of his, and the look on Trump’s face was like “oh God, what now.” Rather than Portnoy Sr. being a d-bag and squandering his chance to mee the President of the United States, he shows out for all parents everywhere. With one question to ask the President, Portnoy Sr. urges President Trump to have his son call him more often. HOW CUTE IS THAT?!

We need more people like these two in the world. Dave doesn’t officially align with either party, and his dad is no fan of President Trump, but when offered the opportunity to meet with the man the is the Commander in Chief, they were both fun, respectful, and downright lovely.
