Finneas (AKA Billie Eilish’s Brother) Calls Us Irrelevant, And I Feel Even More Relevant Now.

So, this was an interesting little exchange.

For those of you who don’t know who Finneas is, he’s who you hear providing background vocals on many of Billie Eilish’s songs.  He’s her brother, and I am a huge fan of his music – the songs he co-writes with her, his own solo stuff, all of it.  I’m a huge fan of Billie Eilish’s music too, and was super bummed when her Indy concert got canceled due to Covid.

I’m a fan of their music, but I try to ignore them as much as I can on POLITICS, because they’re both completely entrenched in a super progressive industry, they were raised by leftists, and they suffer from one of the more severe forms of TDS.  Like – we’re talking Stage 4.  You’ll see what I mean.

Anyway, as much as I try to ignore their politics, I’ll catch a tweet or a post on social media from them from time to time (I follow to get updates on their music, you see), and their politics get shoved right into my face, making it impossible to ignore.

Today, Finneas tweeted this:

He’s terrified, you guys. I’m gonna have to assume now that he was one of the people who sobbed their eyes out on election night when we were all celebrating not having to deal with Hillary’s cackle for the next four years.

Anyway, he’s terrified – perhaps at the thought of once again bringing the economy roaring back, having the lowest unemployment rate (for minorities even!) in like 50 years, cutting taxes and regulations, and building our military strength.  Those things simply FREAK LIBERALS OUT.  They are far more interested in green new deals and other utterly useless programs that won’t do anything they’re MEANT to do, but will ensure the total devastation of this country’s economy and put people at the mercy of their government overlords.

I retweeted him.

And I meant it.  It really does suck.  I’d much rather be blissfully unaware of how dumb he is, so that when I’m listening to his music I can just enjoy it without having to remember that he’s so woefully misinformed.

He responded.

It’s like he can’t understand how those two things can actually logically happen at the same time. I offered a simple explanation.

And it is, isn’t it?  Hardcore leftists are legitimately incapable of considering that people with differing views don’t have to actually hate EVERYTHING about each other.  I can walk and chew gum at the same time.  I can enjoy Finneas’ music and admire his talent, while ALSO thinking he’s an idiot from a political ideology perspective.

And then he went full blast.

Man – he opened himself right up on that one.

It was an interesting set of insults, wasn’t it?  I mean, I don’t even know what the context was for the “cutesy 90s sitcom masquerade” dig.  I’m assuming he just looked at our profile picture and when coming up with a slam for it, he used…that?

I mean, seriously, Finneas – do better.  You’re a big enough star now that you should be well informed on the fact that calling conservatives racist, xenophobic, and misogynistic (spelled correctly – make a note of that for future insults, Finn!), is utterly pointless.  We were all called that back in 2016 and it sent us to the polls for Trump in droves.  We’ve been called those things so often and so wrongly for so long that the words mean absolutely nothing anymore.  You and your leftist sheep followers have diluted the meaning of those words forever and ever more.  YOU did that.  Congrats on rendering them meaningless and thereby hurting your cause.

Now, Finneas has waaaaaaaaaay more followers than we do, obvs, because he’s a SUPER IMPORTANT MUSICIAN with a bunch of Grammy awards and whatnot.  So naturally, his stanbase came out in full force to shower us with really clever and pithy retorts like this one:

I love it when the morons come out in droves because it’s a nice opportunity to just cull the herd and mass-block them.  In fact, one troll in particular posted to her friends, “Post One Direction pictures all over the Chicks’ mentions until they block you!” as if we weren’t delighted for them to do just that.  Please.  Yes.  Please show your asses right to us.

Some of them genuinely believe that just because Finneas has Grammys he’s somehow above criticism:

Ohhhh.  My bad, I guess. Had I known he had FIVE WHOLE GRAMMYS I would have………………………………………..SAID THE EXACT SAME F*CKING THINGS, you dolt.

And then we can at least enjoy our legacy of irrelevancy a little bit more. 🙂
