This was a thread I wrote right before heading to bed last night. Would love to know your thoughts.

I feel like it took a lot of words to get that thought out of my head and onto the screen, and I’m not even certain I’m stating it clearly. But I’m just baffled at why we’re in the year 2020 and medical experts don’t seem to have a simple way of explaining exactly how face coverings help spread viruses such that it makes clear and logical sense to people, and that the opinion on facemask efficacy isn’t universally agreed upon by the healthcare industry. That makes absolutely no sense to me.
This isn’t like a new compound or a mysterious new medicinal plant that needs years of research and scientific exploration. THESE ARE FREAKING FACE MASKS. If they truly worked as they are NOW being purported to, HOW IN THE WORLD could the entire healthcare community not have been in lockstep on their efficacy from the moment we all knew this virus was infectious and spreading?
Someone’s gonna have to explain that to me.
