On Thursday, Joe Biden said that 10 to 15% of Americans are not very good people.
He said this when he was talking to an online discussion group with black supporters, hosted by actor Don Cheadle. The group was discussing “race relations” after the homicide of George Floyd while he was in police custody.
From Bloomberg:
“The former vice president said that President Donald Trump has been a divisive leader who brings out the worst in people, and that “the vast majority” of Americans are decent and want to make the country a better place.
But, he added, “there are probably anywhere from 10 to 15% of the people out there that are just not very good people.”
Biden’s words do a lot more harm than President Trump’s. Biden wastes no time using the fears of black Americans to drive a deeper wedge between them and the Republican party.
What more could Donald Trump be doing?
He has shown support for George Floyd’s family. He has shown strength against rioters trying to destroy our cities. He showed the black community that he supported their peaceful protests, by denouncing the rioters that are taking advantage of the protests to cause chaos.
Biden says that as many as 10-15% of Americans are not very good people. This wording reminds me of Hillary Clinton’s “deplorables” moment. We all know that Democrats hate us and think that we are nothing more than backward hillbillies who don’t know how to read much less what is good for ourselves. They don’t do a very good job of hiding their disdain for the way we think or live our lives.
I am not the only one who finds his words to be reminiscent of Hillary Clinton.
From the same Bloomberg report:
“Biden’s remarks echoed a widely criticized comment by Hillary Clinton in 2016 that half of Trump’s supporters were a “basket of deplorables” who were “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it.” Those remarks dogged her during the campaign and were made into a frequent talking point by Trump’s campaign.”
“His remarks recalled a gaffe by Hillary Clinton during the 2016 elections, where she said half of Trump’s supporters could be put in a ‘basket of deplorables.’ It was a comment that the Trump campaign was able to weaponize as the candidates were battling it out in critical swing states, and that Clinton had to walk back.
She had said half of then-candidate Trump’s supporters were ‘racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic.’ She later condemned her ‘generalistic’ statement as well as her math.”
You would have thought that Joe Biden’s handlers learned their lesson after Hillary Clinton’s defeat in 2016, but they keep making the same mistake.
No one is going to support a party that hates them, and don’t get me wrong–the Democrats hate Trump supporters.
It isn’t hard to understand why the Democrats hate us so much. We love freedom, and they see it as a threat. We love justice, and they hate it when we catch them in their lies. We believe that everyone is responsible for making their dreams into reality, and they think that everyone would be better off having the government do all the work for them.
