The year 2020 remains under a state of emergency.
A Florida Mayor has “temporarily” suspended citizens’ ability to purchase guns, according to reports from local news outlet CW34 and The Blaze.
Meh, why not? What Constitution? What Second Amendment?

We’ve pretty much done away with our rights and freedoms this year. Who will even blink an eye at this?
West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James issued a declaration of state of local emergency on Sunday, banning the sale of firearms and ammunition due to the George Floyd protests taking place in the Florida area.
What are the details?
In his Sunday proclamation, James wrote, “There is reason to believe that there exists a clear and present danger of a riot or other general public disorder.”
As such, the declaration expressly states that the sale of firearms is prohibited.
“The following acts shall be prohibited throughout the City during the State of Local Emergency,” a portion of the proclamation reads. Those acts include “The sale of, or offer to sell, with or without consideration, any ammunition or gun or other firearm of any size of description.”
“The intentional display by or in any store or shop of any ammunition or gun or other firearm of any size of description” is also banned, as well as “[t]he intentional possession in a public place of a firearm by any person, except a duly authorized law enforcement official or person in military service acting in the official performance of her or his duty.”
Mayor James on Monday said he would seek to extend the ban on the sale of guns and ammunition.
Why is it that law-abiding citizens who have a constitutional right to own a gun are having their rights stripped away? The fact that there are rioters or threats of riots means it is even more important for law-abiding citizens to have the means to defend themselves and their property.
West Palm Beach Fla Mayor Keith James declared a 72-hour State of Local Emergency in response to riotous protests; the declaration includes a ban on gun and ammunition sales there.
In other words, he doesn't want his citizens to be able to defend themselves. Dems are killing us!

To be fair, Mayor James does seem to stand behind his police. Police were unfairly accused of instigating violence with protesters. Mayor James pushed back on those accusations unequivocally.

Mayor James needs to stand behind his law-abiding citizens as well. They have a right to defend themselves.
