BREAKING: Tulsi Gabbard DROPS OUT of 2020 Presidential Race

Tulsi Gabbard has dropped out of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.  She has finally made official, what has been unofficially true for months.

Gabbard made a video announcement on Twitter.

In this, she stated her desire to serve out her term as a Hawaii congresswoman.  She also said that she is ready to be deployed in the National Guard to assist in the fight against COVID-19, if needed.  Finally, she voiced her full support and endorsement of Joe Biden.

In the contests the past two weeks, Gabbard often won fewer votes than candidates who had already departed the race. In Tuesday’s primary in Florida, the congresswoman grabbed less than 1 percent of the vote, finishing behind former candidates Mike Bloomberg, Buttigieg, and Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota.

So, just like that, there are officially only two old, white men left in the Democratic race.

Tulsi, for a time, was a breath of fresh air in the primary, as she was not always in complete lockstep with left-wing orthodoxy (e.g. her position on abortion).

But, since COVID-19 has completely taken over the news, her 15 minutes of national fame is truly over.   Although I disagree with 99% of her politics, she seems to be a true patriot and one who elevates the tone of political conversations.  Best wishes to Tulsi in the future.
