At what point during the writing and directing… and the filming… and the release OF the film… did they think something was horribly wrong with this story?
I think it’s fair to say that they never assumed anything was sick and twisted about it.
I don’t know what’s worse, though… the fact that the team finished creating the movie and thought it was a good idea to release it… or the theaters that chose to show it…
According to The Daily Wire:
“Titled ‘Trouble With Being Born,’ the film is programmed as part of Berlinale 2020, the annual film festival held in Berlin, Germany,” reports the Independent. “In the film, the child-like android, played by Lena Watson, 10, is seen calling her owner ‘Daddy.’”
“The android role was originally written for a 20-year-old actor, but after removing some of the more explicit elements, director Sandra Wollner decided to cast a child,” continued the report.
While the sexual encounters between the man and the robot are not explicitly shown, they are easily presumed.
The Daily Wire added:
People on Twitter have objected to the film as “pedophile propaganda” while certain outlets like The Hollywood Reporter (THR) have hailed it for its artistic merits, even going so far to call it a “hidden gem”. Wolner told the outlet she meant the film to be an antithesis to “Pinnochio” or Steven Spielberg’s “AI.”
UHM. Pinnocho’s nose grew to resemble the lies… not for any other purpose.
Also, if she meant it to be an antithesis, she could have literally just made the robot be the age of an adult. Easy peasy. I can think of a dozen different ways that the contrast could still be resembled accurately.
Why are there any strides to normalize pedophilia, robot or not?
Though the creators of sexbots believe that it curbs the desire to commit pedophilia on an actual human child, I’m inclined to believe it reinforces the desire, maintaining the urge.
It is NOT normal to be sexually attracted to a child – and don’t even start with the ‘maturity’ crap.
More from The Daily Wire:
Republican Congressman Dan Donovan of New York, a former prosecutor, has argued laws must be made against child sexbots before a wave sweeps the U.S.
“When I saw articles on the issues of child sex dolls abroad, I knew I had to act immediately to stop the proliferation of them within the United States,” Donovan said in 2018.
To make their possession and import illegal, Donovan proposed the Curbing Realistic Exploitative Electronic Pedophilic Robots (CREEPER) Act.
I’m stunned. Like, my jaw is dragging on the floor right now.
Good for the people who walked out of the viewing but a part of me wonders how many people actually sat through the entire movie.
I couldn’t even finish watching this trailer… the creep-o-meter is off the charts…
